Provide clients with tax guidance and planning related to tax compliance and reporting. Work on key client issues in domestic federal taxation with a focus on implementing tax strategies that align with the client's business objectives; corporate tax; pass-through entities; S corporations; and industry focus. Responsibilities include audit support for tax provision reviews and tax provision preparation. Responsible for tax compliance process including review of tax returns and tax projections throughout the year.

Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Law, or a related field, plus 2 years of related tax experience. Alternatively, employer will accept a Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Law, or a related field, plus 1 year of related tax experience.

Of the required work experience, must have 1 year of tax experience with a mid-size/regional to large sized/national public accounting firm delivering tax compliance and reporting including working on compliance engagements.

Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.

Job Title: Accounting Controller (Global Entities)

Accounting Controllers are an integral part of the Global Entities Accounting Team, reporting to the CRM. They provide support in managing all statutory and regulatory accounting requirements for the operations of the global entities in their area of responsibility.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Accounting Controllers (Global Entities) provide financial input to EY’s Leaders
  • Should have excellent knowledge of the key controlling processes including audit support, accounting, corporate finance, tracking budget and expenses and analysing data
  • Produce and analyse financial statements, including commentary suitable for use at board level
  • Produce and communicate concise and clear financial information for use in decision making
  • Review, understand and explain variances in management packs
  • Own and proactively manage the balance sheet working across the team to make sure the balance sheet is accurate
  • Work with the General Ledger team to ensure correct processing of transactions and deliver accurate and timely month end / year end accounting closes
  • Perform critical account reconciliations, generate financial statement for management and statutory purposes
  • Work across the team to ensure that group transactions are reflected accurately in each entity’s financials
  • Work across multiple functions and geographies to ensure compliance with relevant tax and regulatory requirements
  • Primary contact for the external audit team to ensure that audit queries are dealt with appropriately
  • Regularly assess the financial controls in the processes & suggest best practices to design stronger controls where necessary.
  • Ensure that financial transactions are booked in compliance with EYs accounting policies
  • Support on Partner related matters
  • Support ad-hoc projects

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:

  • Production of key management information and analysis to be used by leadership in the decision-making

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • Prior hands-on experience with consolidations inside a complex legal entity structure with foreign subsidiaries
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
  • Strong appreciation for the importance of ensuring accuracy in all levels of financial reporting
  • Able to work in a self-sufficient manner, operating across multiple priorities to defined timelines
  • Ability to team effectively with people at all levels of the organisation to deliver consistently high-quality work

Job Requirements:

Graduate and/or professional certification in a business-related subject matter (i.e. Accounting, Finance) is required to perform this position.

Experience:

  • 7-10 years of professional experience in Finance, Accounting or Controlling
  • Experience in or knowledge of accounting within a professional services environment, including compliance
  • and reporting
  • Strong experience with creating and analyzing financial statements
  • Strong experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process

Certification Requirements:

  • CA/ CPA or other professional certification is helpful.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure compliance with transfer pricing policies and monitor legal entity results
    • Including Country by Country reporting
    • Reviewing Transfer Pricing Documentation
  • Prepare and review the calculation of the quarterly and annual income tax provision
  • Prepare GAAP income tax accounting models including deferred accounting, payable accounting, tax account roll-forwards, APB23, and stock-based compensation
  • Prepare tax reserves (FIN 48 & FAS 5) and related disclosures
  • Prepare and review U.S. federal and state tax compliance
  • Prepare quarterly federal and state estimated tax payments and year-end extension requests
  • Manage and review fixed assets
  • Prepare R&D credit analysis
  • Provide support for tax examinations
  • Planning and research in connection with the above responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with the requirements of Section 404 of Sarbanes Oxley
  • Support tax transformation initiatives to automate tax processes, enhance data analytics and re-imagine how the tax function operates
  • Keep up to date with tax legislation, SEC Regulations, and GAAP changes, practice and global developments
  • Build and foster strong cross-functional relationships within and outside of the tax department
Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • CPA license required. MST or MBT (Master of Science in Taxation or Master in Business Taxation) degree preferred, but not required
  • Ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of combined tax experience which includes some mix of experience in a major CPA firm and in a corporate tax department
  • Working knowledge of U.S. tax laws and regulations and capability of application in new situations
  • Working knowledge of transfer pricing rules and regulations
  • Experience with ASC 740, Accounting for Income Taxes

SKILLS

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Independent and self-driven with the ability to adapt and get things done in a complex and fast-based environment
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with Alteryx is a plus
