We’re seeking a Project Chemist with a broad background in environmental site characterization and remediation for federal and global private sector clients.

Based near Anchorage, Alaska, you’ll work with other scientists, engineers, subject matter experts, and project managers on exciting environmental remediation and monitoring projects nationwide and globally. You’ll interact with Jacobs technical experts to refine field sampling and test plans, coordinate between multiple projects and laboratories to ensure analysis and testing is performed as planned and be the technical liaison between the laboratories and project teams. As data comes in, you’ll be the first to review, evaluate the results and see the story come together. You’ll showcase this work through project updates, technical reports, and presentations, each helping the project team to gain key insights for the design of a remedial strategy and strengthening the technical foundation of the company. You’ll be juggling multiple tasks, so we’ll rely on you to prioritize effectively, keeping the big picture in mind. Safety will be your priority, as you contribute to operational excellence and maintain the highest standards of Health & Safety and Environmental Compliance in everything you do. This is a hybrid position where you’ll be afforded the flexibility to work from an office as well as from home as best suited to meet project delivery goals while maintaining balance.

We’ll ask you to assist with planning, analysis, design, plan preparation, specification development, quantity and cost estimating, and report writing. We regularly work with geotechnical, highway, and hydraulic engineers so you will use your general understanding of those disciplines to coordinate project work.

As a bridge engineer, we’ll expect you to assist on transportation/railroad projects to ensure that goals or objectives of these projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters. One way you will continue to develop professionally, is when we ask you to be active in technical societies and be available to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours.

As a, you will work with members of our
Kitchener,ONteam to deliver ongoing and upcoming projects in the water industry. You will have the opportunity to work alongside and learn from experienced technical subject matter experts to support municipal treatment process planning, modeling, design and construction based on established standards and software.

You will use your expertise in process design hydraulics, modelling, physical and biological treatment processes and equipment, and applicable regulations to produce meaningful solutions to local, regional, and national treatment project challenges. You will participate in the development of engineering studies, reports, drawings, specifications, contract documents, proposals, and cost estimates; and provide construction administration services and field engineering services during construction as needed.

You will also have the opportunity to manage projects, leading the project team through all phases of project planning, execution, and closeout, consistent with established project delivery processes to meet the scope, schedule, budget, and other requirements stated in the contract.

You’ll oversee the daily administration needs, communications, project/program support functions, and Project Manager-assigned tasks. You may also provide a wide variety of administrative, and staff support services as needed. Using your experience, you’ll be comfortable interfacing with project managers, engineers, technical staff, project controls, project accounting, sub-consultants and clients.

You’ll be able to work with minimal supervision, multitask effectively, use independent judgment, and have the initiative to take on new tasks and challenges. You’ll use your experience-based judgment to evaluate situations and develop solutions and work with minimal oversight to achieve assignment outcomes and manage their own workload. Your work is frequently complex, proprietary, and confidential, and requires strong administrative skills as well as needs excellent inter-personal and team communication skills.
