The primary responsibilities of a tax analyst are to advise and support clients on compliance with income tax regulations, prepare tax returns and represent clients before relevant authorities. Specifically, tax analysts must research relevant Irish tax regulations and outline the different tax brackets and regulations stated in Ireland's tax code. Additionally, the analyst must provide taxpayers with advice and strategies for optimizing their tax returns and make sure that all documents and deductions are submitted on time and accurately. Tax analysts must have a strong understanding of the Irish taxation system, including how different companies, organizations and individuals like permanent residents, "dual-residency" individuals and other foreign entities need to report their income and deductions. An ideal tax analyst must also be actively aware of changes in the taxation system both at the national and local levels and should have good problem-solving and analytical skills.
