Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Actuarial Senior managers are involved in the successful delivery and management of actuarial and multidisciplinary projects, including both the relationship with clients and the performance of the internal EY team.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to drive the production of client deliverables, with an emphasis on quality and teaming. They will have a responsibility for assisting with the management and development of more junior colleagues.
  • They will have a number of areas of technical excellence, participating in the research and development required to support the growth of these fields of expertise. They will be expected to adopt an account management mind-set, identifying client specific needs. They will be able to positively promote the EY strategy, services and values.
  • They must be confident and credible in taking the lead in client interactions and in building market profile.
  • They will work across a broad range of projects both as part of the assurance and business consulting practices. They will look to develop their EY network through working on multi-disciplinary projects across different service lines.

Skills and Attributes for Success

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • Previous experience in managing teams and delivering projects
  • Demonstrated ability in problem solving and managing multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication skills, both in written and oral format
  • Focus on deadlines, discipline and process, yet flexible and pragmatic
  • Professional attitude and demeanour
  • Confident dealing with clients

Technical Skills:

  • Qualified Actuary, with a minimum of 8 years PQE and over 10 years of total experience in non-life insurance/reinsurance or non-life consultancy, preferably with IFRS 17 or related experience
  • Excellent technical and analytical skills
  • Non-life actuarial software experience (e.g. RESQ, WinRes, Arius)
  • Awareness of and interest in the challenges facing the non-life insurance industry

Ideally, you’ll also have

Previous experience in at least two of the following areas:

  • IFRS 17
  • Solvency II
  • Financial reporting
  • Capital and Risk Management

As a Data Architect, you will support our clients in defining and implementing a data journey aligned with their strategic objectives. The responsibilities of the successful candidate will include:

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand client business needs and translate them into data architecture requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Client’s business and IT teams to ensure seamless integration of data architectures.
  • Design and implement data solutions that align with client objectives and industry standards.
  • Create and present the solution design through a solution design document and estimate for complexity, effort, and costs.
  • Demonstrate technical expertise in modern AI, analytics, big data and associated technologies, cloud platforms, data quality, governance, and architecture.
  • Offer strategic advice on leveraging data for operational efficiency and competitive advantage.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics, Quantitative Economics, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or equivalent professional education.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with a blue-chip consulting firm, 3+ of which in a data architecture position with client/ market facing responsibilities.
  • Prior experience leading data teams in a data leadership role, e.g. data team lead, data project lead, data workstream lead etc.
  • Solid experience in Enterprise Data Warehouse integration and reporting developing modern data platform solutions, data governance, architecture frameworks and processes.
  • Technical leadership and the ability to work with a wider group of architects, application teams and business teams to define and socialise architectural concepts and approaches.
  • Data architecture role(s) in major transformation programmes within the Financial Services sector.
  • Knowledge of end-to-end finance data, e.g. source systems, accounting engines, sub-ledgers, data integration layers, analytics and reporting platforms.
  • Knowledge of defining principles and guidelines for the design and management of finance data entities, finance data models and attributes across the Finance systems landscape.
  • Experience of working with existing finance logical data model from package vendors (e.g. Teradata and IBM) and new cloud technologies such as GCP, AWS and Azure.
  • Understanding of the current technology and data challenges and trends in Financial Services industry.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and leading medium to large data projects end-to-end.
  • Technology Consulting experience.
  • Client relationship management experience at senior level.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Systems integration background or experience
  • Financial Services background
  • Experience of developing the Finance Data Strategy for large financial institutions, developing future state architecture
  • Delivery experience in Big Data technologies and Apache ecosystem technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Hive etc and have experience building end to end data pipelines using on-premise or cloud-based data platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with data design and requirements, data issues associated with the delivery of data for finance management and reporting
  • Relevant technology and project/ programme management qualification are an additional bonus, e.g. Agile, Prince2, PMP, TOGAF, ITIL

Skills and Attributes for Success

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • Previous experience in managing teams and delivering projects

  • Confident dealing with clients

Technical Skills:

  • Qualified Actuary, with a minimum of 8 years PQE and over 10 years of total experience in non-life insurance/reinsurance or non-life consultancy, preferably with IFRS 17 or related experience
  • Excellent technical and analytical skills
  • Non-life actuarial software experience (e.g. RESQ, WinRes, Arius)
  • Awareness of and interest in the challenges facing the non-life insurance industry

Ideally, you’ll also have

Previous experience in at least two of the following areas:

  • IFRS 17
  • Solvency II
  • Financial reporting
  • Capital and Risk Management
