Where do you start if you want to change the world?
• A Bachelor and/or Masters degree in economics, tax law, accounting or equivalent – a specialism or supplementary degree in taxation is a plus.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in EMEIA VAT compliance, either in industry or with other service providers.

• Basic understanding of other compliance activities such as statutory accounting and corporate tax compliance.

• Working knowledge of Dutch in addition to a strong working knowledge of English
• Basic understanding of IT-systems and VAT/GST reporting solutions as well as the changing legislative landscape and the impact on VAT compliance.

Tax Accounting & Reporting:

  • Support the preparation and review of interim, quarterly, and year-end global tax provisions under IFRS and US GAAP, and assist with tax reporting deliverables from controllers and tax managers across the Group.
  • Contribute to US GAAP and IFRS disclosure preparation, including reconciliation of GAAP differences, while maintaining tax provision memoranda and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with internal controls, including SOX documentation and audit processes.
  • Act as the key client contact, effectively communicating with clients and building strong relationships.

Process Improvement & Compliance:

  • Identify and support the implementation of process improvements in tax provision and compliance functions, while monitoring and managing the implications of new accounting standards and regulatory changes, including BEPS Pillar Two.
  • Coordinate the preparation of tax account reconciliations and related schedules, and assist in standardizing and embedding Group Tax Reporting processes to ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and SOX.
  • Contribute to continuous improvements in tax reporting processes through design, control, and operational enhancements, as well as managing account resourcing, budget, and delivery.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Support tax reporting aspects of M&A transactions, including purchase accounting and compliance, while partnering with internal tax, accounting, and finance teams, as well as external service providers.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff on ASC 740, IAS 12, and other key tax concepts, providing performance feedback, and ensuring the highest quality standards while developing team talent at all levels.
  • Develop and lead onshore/offshore teams for seamless client service delivery, help set engagement strategies, connect clients with EY subject matter experts, and serve as an escalation point for client and internal teams.

Your skillset

  • Experience in US GAAP and/or IFRS tax accounting provisions, as well as an understanding of the ASC 740 and/or IAS 12 frameworks. Accounting or tax qualification (e.g., tax advisor, auditor), degree qualification, and experience in corporate tax across multiple jurisdictions.
  • At least C1 level in German and the ability to develop and coach team members, along with strong communication skills and collaboration with multicultural teams.
  • Ability to distill complex concepts into actionable insights, work in an organized manner to deliver tax accounting in a short timeframe, and possess problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement.

Your key responsibilities:

We therefore offer you the opportunity to take part in various soft & hard skills training, external courses and/or sign up for an additional education. For example, obtaining an MBA to broaden your skills in Leadership, Business and Tech.
• Mobility: Contribute directly to our ambition to reduce EY's carbon footprint to zero by 2025. With the new scheme you choose the most diverse sustainable options via the EY My Daily Travel app or online environment. Think of the use of lease bicycles, electric shared scooters, electric shared cars, flexible lease cars and various subscriptions for public transport. You can also view your CO2 footprint via the app.
• Bicycle arrangement: finance the purchase cost of your new bicycle from your gross monthly salary (purchase cost amount divided over 12 months) or from your non-statutory holiday entitlement.
• Pension scheme: you will build up a pension capital directly after your start at EY. Each month the available premium amount is transferred for you in an investment account at our pension provider. You will also have the option to build up additional pension capital on a voluntary basis.
