The role of a Business Banking Relationship Manager in Canada is an incredibly important and influential one. This position is responsible for developing and managing business relationships with customers and prospects, as well as providing a high level of financial banking services.
As a Relationship Manager, you would be responsible for understanding and analysing the customer's portfolio and helping to create tailored solutions based on their needs. You would be responsible for ensuring that customer expectations are met in a timely and effective manner, building long-term relationships with customers, and tracking customer satisfaction after transactions.
You will be expected to show off excellent communication and relationship building skills, be highly organized and detail-oriented, comfortable working with numbers and the various accounting software packages and tools, and stay up-to-date with trends in the banking industry.
A successful relationship with the customer should start with understanding the customer's goals and aspirations and developing sound financial strategies to achieve them, while being attentive to their unique circumstances. You should have excellent financial know-how and proficiency to be able to review and advise on different banking products and solutions, such as managing cash flow, setting up loans and interest/exchange rates.
