Responsibilities include:

• Direct and coordinate all work activities relating to the preparation and delivery of tax compliance client service
• Lead tax delivery processes and build alliances through teaming, and/or act as a deep subject matter expert.
• Oversee large team and provide visibility to leadership on status, issues, or situations which need to be addressed
• Manage and monitor team's work, progress reporting, workload, quality and utilization/overtime distribution across the team

To qualify for the role, you must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Tax, Law, or Economics
• CPA, EA, or licensed attorney
• Minimum of 10 years of work experience in professional services or professional tax organization
• Ability to prioritize, handle and track multiple assignments
• Ability to work in unstructured environment, demonstrated ability to resolve complex tax issues across multiple functions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to identify improvement opportunities and actively engage in implementing improvements
• Demonstrated leadership skills and proven skills in developing employees
• Strong oral and written communication as well as presentation skills
• Experience with financial and tax applications such as GoSystems, CorpTax, Onesource, as required by area of specialism
• Proficient using Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, and Power Point
• Proficiency in tax accounting systems

Senior Manager – Financial Services Audit

As our Senior Manager in the Financial Services Audit practice, you will help our clients meet their reporting requirements by accurately reporting on financial statements and providing meaningful insights. You will anticipate risk, team effectively across EY, and identify opportunities to enhance trust, focusing on overall audit quality, and building excellent client relationships. Your key responsibilities

• Manage the audit engagement by defining audit strategy and executing it in compliance with our policies and protocol.
• Effectively manage the audit process with appropriate consideration of audit risk issues and technical matters.
• Be accountable for the budget, delivery and performance of complex processes, solutions and/or projects to achieve performance objectives.
• Lead and manage fieldwork on clients’ sites including liaising with other departments to ensure the smooth delivery of the audit process.
• Lead teams to achieve performance objectives, maintain staff utilisation, and oversee the work of junior audit staff, providing guidance, support, and training.

• At least 8 years’ experience of external audit experience, including planning, execution and reporting on audits.
• A relevant degree and/or progress towards/completion of a recognised accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent).

Our Business Tax Advisory practice gives you the opportunity to focus on US Tax - Information Reporting & Withholding. You will work in a group environment on challenging information reporting and withholding engagements across all financial services sectors. We offer the specialization in assisting clients with mission-critical operationaltax issues and customer reporting issues. Specifically, our experienced practitioners work across tax and operations to deliver advice and support throughout the project lifecycle. You will work closely with colleagues to assist clients in understanding relevant tax rules and implementing changes to their operations, processes, and systems.Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), and domestic withholding and reporting matters.You can expect to work on engagements dealing with the FATCA, cost basis reporting, and various other global compliance and reporting initiatives, such as Common Reporting Standards (CRS). As you progress within EY and our IRW tax team, you will become a trusted business advisor to your clients. As you develop, you will benefit from being led and mentored by nationally recognized tax professionals who include some of the firm’s most senior tax talent.

The IRW Tax Services practice invests in the development of its team, with frequent virtual training, update calls and in-person trainings to help individuals develop technical skills and learn about new areas of the law. Through your experiences, you will develop your skill sets and learn how IRW requirements are managed within large to medium size companies.

Your key responsibilities

You will interface daily with superiors, peers and subordinates and clients on large and small IRW projects. This could include interpreting IRS Code and Regulations, drafting guidance, data analyzation and requirements development that help clients translate and implement these rules. You may conduct a gap analysis of the current state of clients’ policies, procedures and systems and write business requirements. You will be part of a team that prepares documentation including presentations and flow charts. You will be involved in technical analysis, process improvement and respond to requests for proposals from clients also.

To qualify for the role, you must have at a minimum

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university and J.D., LL.M. in Taxation, and/or Master's in Taxation (MST) preferred
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant tax consulting or tax operational experience
• Be a licensed attorney, CPA, Project Management Professional, Six Sigma, Lean or equivalent certification or a certified member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation or have the ability to obtain one of these designations

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Active participation in industry groups such as SIFMA, ABA, IIB
• The ability to understand and implement tax rules

• A demonstrated interest in tax information reporting and withholding work in Chapter 3, Chapter 4 and Chapter 61 or some experience working with these matters
