Account managers in the tech industry in Australia play an important role in maintaining and growing client relationships. Generally working in a corporate environment, account managers are the liaison between the company and the customer, understanding their needs and communicating them to the appropriate internal teams.
The typical duties for an account manager in the tech sector include liaising with the customer, evaluating their wants and needs, providing solutions to meet the customer's demands and offering consultations to ensure that the customer is receiving a high-quality service in a timely manner. Account managers also analyse proficiency of current customers and anticipate changes in the market to identify sales opportunities and suggest new solutions to customers.
Besides the customer-facing responsibilities, account managers are also responsible for preparing reports and documentation, coordinate pricing with internal departments, record customer feedback, provide feedback to colleagues, use Expoint's platforms and tools, and seeking feedback from customers on the solutions offered. They should also have an in-depth understanding of the tech sector, including industry trends and competitor analysis.
To be successful in this position, an account manager should have strong organisational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, good communication skills and the ability to negotiate and provide excellent customer service. A bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is often required. Being tech-savvy and having a track record in lead generation and new customer acquisition is beneficial.
If you are passionate about working with customers and have the skills necessary to excel in managing the customer relationship from start to finish, Expoint has the perfect opportunity for you to take your career to the next level.
