What you’ll do:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems, APIs, and services to power growth strategies, with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Work closely with our Design, Product, and Analytics teams to move projects from conception to launch.
• A/B test new features, analyze their results, and release improvements iteratively.
• Write clean, well-tested, and performant library and product code for our frontend and backend platforms.
• Support and nurture the technical development of colleagues on the team.

Skills and knowledge you should possess:

• Expert proficiency in using modern technologies and frameworks (e.g., React, Next, Typescript).
• Proficient in building and deploying full-stack web applications with a focus on clean code, robust architecture, and scalability.
• Solid experience in backend development using one or more server-side languages (PHP, NodeJs, Python). Experience with PHP is a plus.
• An intimate knowledge of relational database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server) and data modeling techniques.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, process, and interpret data to drive informed decision-making and optimization, particularly in the context of A/B testing.
• Skilled in fostering constructive and productive collaboration with technical and non-technical teams, demonstrating respect and effectiveness.
• Great planning skills, able to break down large projects into milestones and identify risks and dependencies.
• Demonstrated experience contributing to projects focused on user acquisition, monetization, activation, or retention is highly preferred.

Base Salary Range:

• NYC Metro, Bay Area, Seattle, & Los Angeles: $150,000 - $207,000
• All other US cities outside above metro areas: $135,000 - $186,300

• Develop, implement, and oversee Vimeo’s privacy program, ensuring compliance with global data protection laws including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant regulations.
• Provide expert legal guidance on privacy and data protection matters related to product development, marketing, and third-party partnerships.
• Draft, update, and enforce internal and external privacy policies, data protection agreements, and other legal documentation to reflect evolving legal requirements and industry best practices. Collaborate with product, engineering, and security teams to ensure privacy-by-design principles are embedded into product development and business operations.Develop and lead privacy training programs to promote a strong culture of data protection.
• Partner with security and compliance teams to manage data breaches and security incidents, ensuring regulatory compliance and risk mitigation.
• Stay up-to-date with global privacy laws and regulations and offer proactive guidance to internal stakeholders on potential implications.Engage with regulators when necessary and advocate for Vimeo’s interests in privacy matters.
• Supervise and provide guidance to the Privacy Program Manager, ensuring successful execution of privacy initiatives.

• JD or equivalent legal degree with strong academic credentials and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
• 8+ years of legal experience with a focus on privacy, data protection, and technology law.
• In-depth knowledge of global privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant frameworks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to non-legal business stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Proven ability to lead initiatives, manage cross-functional projects, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• CIPP/E, CIPP/US, or similar certification preferred.
• Prior management experience preferred.

Base Salary Range:

• NYC Metro, Bay Area, Seattle, & Los Angeles: $184,000 - $251,500
• All other US cities outside above metro areas: $165,600 - $226,350

What you’ll do:

• Design, develop, and improve components, interfaces, and tools for team members and users with a focus on discovery, moderation, and regulation enforcement.
• Work closely with our customer facing Trust and Safety teams, and other internal teams to build products to improve their day to day.
• Write clean, well-tested, and performant library and product code using PHP, Javascript (ES6), React, Python and Go.

• A strong background in programming for the web with established relevant experience
• Comprehensive understanding of React, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and the DOM
• Experience working server side with one or more technologies (PHP, Python, Java, Go, NodeJS, etc.)
• A working competency in MySQL or similar RDBMS platform.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate respectfully and effectively with both technical and non-technical teams
• Highly motivated self-starter. Operates with a sense of urgency and values accountability

• Full stack dev experience within a dynamic web environment
• Programming experience in PHP
• Prior experience in Security and/or Trust & Safety

Base Salary Range:

• All other US cities outside above metro areas: $117,000 - $160,650
