Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities:

• Effectively communicate and collaborate to introduce new technologies, software standards, architecture/design concepts.
• Work both independently as well as in a dynamic, distributed team environment.
• Collaborate with backend, QA, and embedded teams that support the frontend.
• Plan and accurately estimate story points for tasks and projects.
• Complete system level projects autonomously.
• Mentor and guide other developers towards best practices and technologies.
• Help clear roadblocks when they arise.
• Interact with RESTful, HLS/WebRTC, and web socket API/Endpoints.
• Learn and contribute towards build and deployment processes, client caching, security, and other concerns.
• Provide and accept constructive feedback during code reviews.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years' experience in design and programming large-scale applications through all phases of the software development life cycle including testing, implementation, and auditing.
• Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and core JavaScript concepts.
• Experience in React/Vue/Solid or other JavaScript frameworks.
• Experience with state management.
• Experience with UI/UX principals, including accessibility.
• Experience with debugging and root cause analysis through all application layers.
• Experience consuming REST based web services.
• Experience writing unit tests using Jest, Cypress, or similar tools.
• Ability to take ownership of assignments and drive to resolution.
• This is a US-MD hybrid role requiring work in the Columbia, MD office at minimum 1-2 times a month.
• Successful completion of a background screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search, OFAC, SS Verification, as well as credit and drug screening, where applicable and in accordance with federal and local regulations.

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience creating reusable UI elements using Tailwind/TypeScript considering responsive design and mobile clients.
• Experience with browser-based video playback technologies, such as HLS, WebRTC, DASH, and Fragmented MP4.
• Familiar with graphs / charts / visualizations (SciCharts / SVG / Visx).
