The Investment Analyst will typically work with a minimum of 2 Investment Managers to manage a client base of approximately 100-150 relationships with assets under management averaging $1 - $2 billion and revenue responsibility averaging $7.5 - $10 million.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The investment team is a critical partner in new business development and acts as a primary source for investment communication. The IA assists the Investment Manager in acquiring prospective clients through comprehensive analysis of complex outside portfolios and presentation preparation.

  • Propose, construct, and monitor client-specific, advice-driven investment strategies and solutions for individuals and families.

  • Make proactive recommendations to Investment Managers and/or clients.

  • Responsible, along with Investment Managers, for daily trading activities in discretionary, non-discretionary, and trust-based portfolios and is responsible for adhering to and documenting compliance with Truist, and relevant regulatory policies and procedures.

  • Work with Investment Managers and compliance to monitor client portfolios relative to their investment policy statement and work with the team to identify and address variances.

  • Actively assist in the client onboarding experience and develop the Investment Policy Statement in accordance with the client’s unique situation.

  • Develop and advise on investment recommendations and help transition new clients into a collaborative and on-going portfolio management and client communication cycle.

  • Prepare regular investment reviews for existing clients, recommend, establish, monitor, and adjust, as necessary, investment strategies and solutions designed to achieve the client’s goals.

  • Attend meetings and participate in presentations to clients and interact with other Truist wealth teammates.

  • Actively engaged in risk management.

Required Qualifications:

1. Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of mass affluent clients. Premier Bankers should deliver a level of personalized, attentive service that clients deem outstanding.

2. Establish and periodically update understanding of client financial needs and conditions based upon sound profiling and personal financial planning analysis. Proactively work with the financial advisor on assigned investment accounts for adherence to investment and asset allocation objectives and policies.

4. Meet revenue growth, profitability and retention goals by acquiring new clients, expanding services, and marketing new products to existing clients. Successfully participate in the sales management process, which includes, but is not limited to, the delivery of excellent client service behaviors, support of the Truist segmentation models, full use of the automated sales process and support of referral processes and guidelines. Monitor, maintain and update sales activity, pipeline and other pertinent information using the bank's contact management system.

7. Work within existing audit, compliance and regulatory framework in order to ensure a high quality, compliant portfolio of client relationships.

8. Participate in the ongoing implementation and development of the Premier Banking program, including processes, products, services and operating policies and procedures. Provide mentoring to less experienced bankers in support of establishing a high level of professionalism, client service and responsiveness.


QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

2. 4. A minimum of Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), FINRA Series 7, 66 (63 and 65 in lieu of 66) and applicable Insurance licenses (Life, Health, and Variable) must be active and maintained, or must be obtained within 100-150 days of job entry date. Active FINRA licenses must be transferred within 60 days of job entry date. Must be SAFE Mortgage Licensing Act compliant with 30 days of employment in this role, including new or transfer of registration, and applicable NMLS acceptable background check.

5. Strong interpersonal, sales and relationship management skills.

6. Strong written, verbal and presentation skills including demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office software products.

7. Previous experience using financial planning software; demonstrated ability to deliver advisor led financial planning that addresses the following key areas - banking, planning, risk, investments and estate – for mass affluent clients.

6. Maximize sales opportunities by contacting potential investment clients based on internal and bank leads. Use product and industry knowledge to identify existing client, account, and product attributes that present sales potential.

7. Provide operational guidance to Financial Advisors ranging from systems navigation to document fulfillment.

8. Ensure new business paperwork is accurately successfully submitted. This includes preparing forms to be presented to clients, obtaining appropriate signatures, submission and follow-up of new account documentation.

9. Mitigate risk through appropriate authentication standards. This includes the authentication of incoming and outgoing client calls. Required to perform authentication callbacks for high risk transactions, such as third party distributions, profile changes and wires.

10. Maintain a professional environment and create a positive impression.

11. Submit and process certain operational requests as instructed by the Financial Advisor and/or client. These may include: funds distributions, deposits of checks, journals, client and account updates, ACAT initiation and other operational tasks.

12. Work in coordination with the Financial Advisor to ensure certain reports are reviewed and addressed, such as insufficient funds for periodic distributions and RMDs not met.

13. May assist with physical branch location needs, such as opening, closing, general requests for maintenance or service.
