As a Chemist in the Tech Industry in Teva in Salt Lake City, you will be responsible for developing and executing laboratory experiments consistent with the development methods. You will develop and execute methods for synthesizing and analyzing various compounds, perform basic organic and analytical chemistry, as well as perform quality control checks, document and interpret results. Additionally, you will be required to provide data and laboratory support to other teams and departments within Teva in the Salt Lake City location.
In addition, your role may be to provide direction and guidance to scientists, technicians and laboratory staff. You will be instrumental in developing and validating analytical methods, developing instruments use testing, initially designing and setting up experiments and protocols, and making critical technical decisions. You will also be responsible for performing research in order to develop new products and processes in a laboratory setting.
You will have a degree in Chemistry, with at least 3-4 year's experience in a research or related position, and be comfortable in a laboratory environment. Competencies in organic, analytical and medicinal chemistry would be ideal. A competency in HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography) would also be a plus. You should have strong communication skills and be a strong problem solver, able to make technical decisions while under pressure.
