- Support all Facilities electrical testing scopes, LOTO confirmation, scope of work reviews pre/post job, create written procedures for electrical test equipment, follow all Tesla standards and protocols, support general contractor needs throughout electrical testing scopes of work (i.e. assisting contractors in the field)
- Perform maintenance on various types of industrial equipment as needed (typically electrical equipment)
- Utilize equipment drawings and manuals to maintain and trouble shoot equipment
- Identify parts required for maintenance jobs and coordination of requesting various parts for jobs
- Communicate equipment issues with leadership and drive solutions to issues
- Displays positive attitudes and practices good work ethics that reflects the mission, philosophy, and goals of the company
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in electrical testing, with a strong understanding of electrical theory, practical application, and related hazards
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and equipment manuals
- Experienced in using electrical testing equipment such as Breaker Testing, TTR, Winding Resistance, Frax, and Trax
- Certified as a NETA Certified Technician or have been certified in the past
- Skilled in identifying equipment and understanding associated hazards
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and reading parts lists and technical drawings
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed

- Available to travel for FAT and equipment installation and commissioning
- 4+ years as a control systems engineer working with BMS and Ignition SCADA systems
- Additional experience working with additional PLC platforms: Siemens, Beckhoff, Allen-Bradley, Omron
- Experience working with modern communication protocols: Profinet, EtherCAT, Ethernet IP, Modbus TCP, OPC
- Evidence of exceptional ability, including a strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and demonstrated ability to leverage this understanding to solve challenging technical problems.

What to Expect What You’ll Bring
As a Facilities I&C Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing instrumentation, equipment, and control systems. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, critical thinking, and collaboration with the entire Facilities Operations/Maintenance department. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliable operation of control systems and instrumentation, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of the facility.
What You’ll Do - Commission new instrumentation, control systems, and equipment to Tesla operational standards
- Calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation, equipment, and control systems, ensuring optimal functionality within the facility
- Collaborate with the Facilities Operations/Maintenance department to perform preventive maintenance, address trouble calls, and handle emergency maintenance as needed
- Troubleshoot, program, and improve control systems, including PLCs, controllers, and final control elements to support automated processes
- Assist in troubleshooting, upgrading, and installing new control systems, ensuring seamless integration and operation
- Measure and monitor levels, pressures, temperatures, flow, and analytical processes, ensuring accuracy and reliability of data
- Use complex electrical schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring systems operate correctly and efficiently
- Experience commissioning industrial processes, including but not limited to: Steam, HVAC, chilled water, fire / toxic services
- Preferred Technical Degree in Electrical/Electronics, Instrumentation, or equivalent experience
- Ability to read and comprehend wiring diagrams, electrical prints & schematics, loop drawings, P&IDs, C&E matrix, and Control Narratives
- Strong skills in troubleshooting motor controls, drives, and electronic components and proficient with Siemens S7 / TIA Portal, V18
- Experience with Ignition and HMI/SCADA software
- NFPA 70E Certification
- Ability to work at high elevations (up to 60 ft.) and lift at least 50 lbs. regularly, perform repetitive hand and wrist motions, and twist and bend the body

- Understand and apply Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) concepts and root cause failure analysis to open-ended problems
- Communicate effectively and timely to stakeholders and the required engineering team
- Ability to prioritize and manage a heavy workload to ensure high quality and productivity
- Develop commissioning, startup, and operations plans for mechanical systems (HVAC, dry air, gas/chemical, hydronic, etc.)
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or the equivalent in experience
- 5+ years of experience supporting facilities
- Operations experience in datacenter or high-tech manufacturing facilities is preferred
- Intermediate knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and systems, including pumps, pneumatics, fans, flow meters, air handling systems, industrial chilled water, heating, process piping, rotating equipment, mass and heat transfer
- Knowledge and experience with writing sequences of operation for Process mechanical system
