  • Communicate equipment issues with leadership and drive solutions to issues
  • Displays positive attitudes and practices good work ethics that reflects the mission, philosophy, and goals of the company
What You’ll Bring
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in electrical testing, with a strong understanding of electrical theory, practical application, and related hazards
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and equipment manuals
  • Experienced in using electrical testing equipment such as Breaker Testing, TTR, Winding Resistance, Frax, and Trax

What to Expect

Tesla is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer experienced in the design of complex manufacturing campuses, who has a strong desire to be a part of a world class team focused on achieving amazing results. As a key contributor to our factory design group, you will work with a multidisciplinary team to design and build manufacturing facilities and infrastructure support systems. This full-time employee position is located at Gigafactory 1 in Sparks, NV.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop electrical designs, concept evaluations, and construction drawing completion for permits and execution
  • Review submittals, vendor shop drawings, and designs for quality control, constructability, and cost
  • Interface with external EPC firms during bidding and execution to ensure compliance with Tesla’s Engineering Standards
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, construction, and facilities teams to meet end-user needs and resolve design issues across disciplines
  • Present electrical design concepts and progress at project milestone reviews to stakeholders and multi-discipline teams
  • Conduct electrical studies (arc flash, fault current, voltage drop, and selective coordination) and distribution planning for infrastructure upgrades
  • Review new projects, assess Tesla’s best interest, and prepare comparative BOMs for cost estimation
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Advanced knowledge of REVIT MEP
  • Have experience with SKM Dappor Captor and can edit and add information in the model
  • Well versed in National Electrical Code
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment
  • Ability to interface with multiple engineering disciplines
  • Licensed P.E. in the state of Nevada, or capability to port their existing PE or P.Eng. license withinn 6 month of start, or EIT (Passed FE Exam) in pursuit of professional engineering licensure

What to Expect

As a Tesla Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational availability of a wide array of manufacturing equipment. You will apply your technical skills to install, maintain and repair mechanical and electrical systems, factory automation and robotics. You will work with the highest caliber process and equipment engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and minimize or eliminate downtime. Tesla's Equipment Maintenance Technicians are also the first-responding problem solvers who manage machine breakdown recoveries to keep production running.

What You’ll Do
  • Day to day coverage of production line equipment: respond to alarms, breakdowns, and Production requests quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime
  • Diagnoses equipment failures, find the s root cause and communicates actions taken to the rest of the team
  • Takes initiative to improve PM documents and schedules, under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor and Leads
  • Perform major equipment repairs and rebuilds, (some weekends and holidays required)
  • Uses manufacturing systems effectively (MES, Spares Inventory, Issue Tracking)
  • Work with Process and Equipment engineering and other cross functional groups to resolve maintenance issues, improve equipment reliability, review procedures, and minimize equipment downtime
  • Follows all aspects of Maintenance Safety protocol (LOTO, 5-S, Arc Flash, etc.), to ensure that the maintenance team operates safely at all times, always leading by example
What You’ll Bring
  • 3+ years of experience maintaining industrial equipment and automation, or as an Automotive Technician, or technical military experience in lieu of degree, or equivalent experience
  • Strong Allen Bradley PLC experience highly desired
  • Fanuc and or Kuka robot experience a plus
  • Areas of specialization may include one or more of the following: electrical/electronics, mechanical/machining, or automation/PLC/robotics
  • Skilled at troubleshooting automation, conveyance, and electromechanical systems
  • Able to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Must have command of English language, both written and verbal

Physical Demands
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day, including over varied and uneven terrain
  • Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
  • Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts

What You’ll Bring
  • Experience commissioning industrial processes, including but not limited to: Steam, HVAC, chilled water, fire / toxic services
  • Preferred Technical Degree in Electrical/Electronics, Instrumentation, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend wiring diagrams, electrical prints & schematics, loop drawings, P&IDs, C&E matrix, and Control Narratives
