What You’ll Do
  • Ensure sufficient coverage of competent, trained staff to support all Quality and Production targets in all Gigafactory manufacturing operations and maintain a culture that prioritizes safety and quality through communication, action, and accountability
  • Identify opportunities to qualify products and processes efficiently and effectively, constantly looking for improvements
  • Own execution of the control plan – tracking results to make data driven decisions. Leading issue resolution (including root cause investigation) for all audit failures and non-conforming material; Ensure Quality Operations teams utilize standardized work and consistent work practices across shifts and areas.
  • Foster an environment of continuous learning and improvement and develop individual professional development for supervisory team
  • Drive a culture that prioritizes safety and quality through communication, action, and accountability. Motivate your team through recognition awards; Immerse yourself within the cross functional team of production/engineering/maintenance/safety/production control/NPI organizations to provide world class customer service
  • Facilitate the improvement of Quality controls and audits to prevent escape of suspect material. Support projects to ensure robustness in the quality system and its controls by implementing effective controls for suspect materials (Physical and virtual material management). Provide effective equipment and tooling to improve quality timeline and disposition. Support the allocation of resources and space to complete quality inspections and disposition without escape of material
  • Focus on the development of all team members by getting to know them and understand their skills and abilities; Utilize a skills matrix that you define to evaluate and address the areas that need refinement
What You’ll Bring
  • 3+ year experience managing teams of people in high-volume manufacturing setting. Preferred experience managing a mixture of individual contributors and people leaders
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or other Technical discipline, evidence of exceptional experience, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to support Quality problem identification, prioritization, and resolution
  • Ability to work with and develop Quality performance metrics. Ability to develop motivation and drive from team members even on challenging situations. Ability to work well under extreme pressure while managing competing demands and deadlines

  • Create, maintain, and communicate schedules and plans for manufacturing projects, covering process development, validation, line design, equipment fabrication, FAT, SAT, SOP, and shipping
  • Coordinate build milestones with Manufacturing Engineering, Construction, Facilities, and Production teams
  • Track and report equipment readiness, project status, blockers, and changes, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Monitor project costs, drive cost management improvements, and ensure projects stay within budget
  • Provide technical leadership and project management expertise to solve key program challenges while motivating teams to complete critical tasks
  • Drive collaboration across internal and cross-functional teams to meet deadlines and deliver results within time and resource constraints
What You’ll Bring
  • 3+ years of experience in a mix of engineering and project management
  • Experience in technical program or project management, ideally with multiple delivered projects of medium to large sized capital equipment systems ($1M-$25M+)
  • Proven experience coordinating between technical and non-technical team members effectively, and across multiple time zones
  • Experience with project management tools (MS Project, JIRA, etc.)
  • Experience leading a team in a complex construction, production, and/or manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, preferred

  • Demonstrated high volume production planning experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally with 2 + years’ experience structuring and building analytical models
  • Ability to spot process improvement opportunities and influence others to make change
  • Good organizational and project management skills. (role requires juggling long-term projects, daily tasks, and urgent questions)

  • Confirm that scopes of work installation conforms to approved design drawings, specifications, and method
  • Witness & perform construction complete inspection checks & writes QC reports verifying proper install per design & code standards
  • Obtain relevant documentation and ensure the correct implementation of the Inspection Test Plans for all things related to mechanical, plumbing & fire protection
  • Assist and coordinate final handover documentation including completion of construction punch lists
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience

  • Develop & maintain Standardized Manufacturing Instructions used in production assembly by the assembly team members

  • Tesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams’ safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations

What You’ll Bring
  • 3+ years of experience managing teams of people in a high volume manufacturing setting preferred

  • Experience in selecting and developing new team members

  • Ability to work with and develop production performance metrics (efficiency, quality, safety, throughput, costs)
