What You’ll Do
  • Work closely with Regional Collision Manager to oversee all daily operations of the Collision Center to ensure delivery of excellent results consistently on all aspects of the business
  • Manage resource scheduling and allocation, implement and adherence of work standard quality, and understand and own every aspect of the team’s performance
  • You will be responsible for driving continuous improvements to facilitate exceptional team output and customer service. We expect you to champion safety, efficiency, quality, and overall excellence in all your actions and decisions
  • Forecast and surpass goals and objectives for the site through regular audits of shop operations
  • Take ownership and create a culture of accountability, always maintaining the integrity of the Tesla brand, its processes, procedures, and values
  • Provide regular coaching and feedback and have a deep knowledge of your team’s strengths and opportunities. You will be responsible for leading change and inspiring your team every day
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Regional Collision Manager
What You’ll Bring
  • 5-8 years of management experience in the collision industry or relevant roles in manufacturing, automotive, or customer service, in addition to 3-5 years vendor management expertise
  • Bachelor’s Degree, relevant Certificate from a Vocational School in Collision Repair, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in effectively leading diverse field, technical repair, or manufacturing teams in a technology-driven environment
  • Read and comprehend automotive repair procedures, with in-depth knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in collision repair; ability to run processes using Six Sigma or Toyota Lean
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence teams to achieve business targets
  • Follow instructions meticulously, showcasing attention to detail in tasks and responsibilities; capable of self-management in limited supervision environments
  • Valid driver's license preferred

What You’ll Do
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for following proper repair procedures and performs all procedures according to factory specifications
  • Use frame equipment for measuring and installing structural components
  • Glue, rivet, and weld structural components
  • Repair exterior cosmetic panels with metal finishing and body filler.
  • Remove and replace all parts associated with collision repair including body, mechanical, electrical, and trim components
  • Perform steel and aluminum welding operations: MIG / MAG / STRSW / Dent Pullers
  • Operation and maintenance of a wide variety of hand power tools and shop tools
  • Reading and comprehending automotive repair procedures
  • Adhere to all regulatory compliance guidelines for hazardous waste disposal
  • Maintain clean, orderly and organized work area
  • Comply with safety rules, guidelines and standards
What You’ll Bring
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Collision Repair Technician
  • 75% of the year travel minimum, 3 consecutive week capability and ability to travel with your own tools
  • Capable of seamlessly integrating with multiple different teams on wide variety of different technical repairs and processes
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, including the public
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and to work independently in limited supervision environments
  • Willingness to work overtime if required
  • Vocational Certificate in Collision Repair and Tesla experience, preferred

What You’ll Do
  • Perform required preventive maintenance activities on inverters to maintain warranty coverage
  • Respond to corrective maintenance cases on solar PV systems, energy storage systems, and updating online case logs accurately   while working safely and in accordance with Tesla and industry standard safety requirements
  • Report writing, where required, to comply with deliverables in O&M contracts
  • Work closely with members of the Operations Engineering Systems Reliability team to respond to open case directions and provide data where requested
  • Prioritize conflicting work requests and escalations
  • Respond to customers’ concerns with the performance or functionality of their system
  • Ensure the vehicle, tooling, electronics, software, and company property issued are always accounted for and taken care of
What You’ll Bring
  • Minimum one-year experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting solar PV systems. A valid Journeyman Electrician card preferred to perform electrical work in the states where work will be performed by the candidate
  • Proficiency in installing inverters and able to work with various ground and roof mount racking systems and understanding the NEC codes that relate to solar PV installations and knowledge of NFPA 70E practices
  • Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment with aggressive timelines while working independently and managing your own schedule
  • Proficient working with spreadsheets, word processing, and computer-based applications (e.g. time tracking, case management, etc.)
  • Must be able to work at heights, climb ladders and stairs, lift heavy objects and work on your feet for long periods of time along with working in extreme environments e.g. hot sun, below freezing etc. Bending, stooping, crawling, in confined spaces, working in limited illumination areas, working in dusty conditions are required
  • Comfortable making decisions independently and handling emergency situations with a calm and directed manner while showcasing excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment and able to travel for up to 2 weeks at a time

The Collision Center Back of House Manager is the leader of our collision shop floor teams. In this role, you will be responsible for leading an engaged team of technicians while delivering an impeccable service experience through driving excellent results and delivering operational efficiency in our collision centers. This position requires a clear understanding of production systems and collision shop workflow, utilizing critical thought processes and root cause analysis.
What You’ll Do
  • Provide effective supervision and coaching to assigned technical employees to achieve the required quality and service output goals. Maintain appropriate shop records and inventories. Manage the smooth flow of work through the collision center
  • Serve as the process leader for shop activities, ensuring work standards are defined and systemically improved with input from collision technicians and the rest of the collision center team. Lead, coach and develop a highly engaged team of technicians
  • Ensure that work standards and available engineering procedures are current, accurate and that all work is done in compliance to ensure maximum quality. Monitor to ensure that all employees comply with safety regulations and the collision center's safety program
  • Work with employees to resolve technical and personnel problems. Schedule employees to effectively meet collision repair needs and to ensure vacation and other time off consistent with company policies
  • Responsible for selecting team members and ensuring they receive the required training. Conduct regularly scheduled one on one developmental meetings with team members to facilitate their professional development and leveling in charge your career. Monitor training needs/requirements of the team and individuals and coordinate training as required in partnership with training team resources
  • Provide effective daily communication in order to keep all team members working toward the same goals. Communicate to employees all issues that affect the service center and overall service organization
  • Partner with Collision Manager to scale and grow the production of the shop in support of company targets. Perform other duties as assigned by the Collision Manager to support business
What You’ll Bring
  • 7-10 years Collision technical aptitude or experience is preferred
  • Prior leadership experience in a collision-focused industry preferred
  • Ability to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality / quantity. Able to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities, establish and achieve goals. Ability to lead group root cause problem solving activities and rapidly develop countermeasures
  • Able to effectively interact with customers as required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • One to three years of industrial supervisory or similar leadership experience preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office, understanding of repair estimates
  • Valid driver's license preferred
