What You’ll Do
  • Develop and automate test and verification/validation involving building test suite from scratch to continuous regression using Matlab/Python/C and C++
  • Design, development, and analysis of system and software architectures for various sensing systems
  • Writing, testing, and debugging embedded FW developed using C/C++ running on target devices
  • Evaluate various existing and new sensor technologies for next generation sensor systems by bringing up prototype software and testing in lab
  • Hands-on testing work such as testing of sensor systems in laboratory and in-car drives
  • Writing software requirements, test cases, reviewing requirements and code, etc.
  • Mentoring other team members and interns
  • Collaborate with a broad range of cross-functional teams including mechanical, software, program management, and senior leadership​
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in embedded C/C++ coding skills for embedded system development
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Python/Matlab for scripting and testing of embedded systems implementing DSP and ML algorithms, and data analysis
  • Experience with using real time embedded OS such as FreeRTOS, as well as Linux
  • Working knowledge of device drivers for microcontroller peripherals (SPI, I2C, UART, DMA, IRQ, USB, timers, ADCs, DACs, Flash, etc.)
  • Experience with automotive CAN and CAN-FD interface
  • Experience working with Docker, GIT, toolchains (GNU, IAR, etc.), bootloaders, linkers scripts
  • Working knowledge of board bring-up, profiling, JTAG/SWD debugging, Dedi-prog, etc.
  • Knowledge of basic DSP building blocks (FIR, IIR, FFT, etc.) preferred
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware using logic analyzers, oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers

What You’ll Do
  • Be responsible for overall functional and performance readiness of the sensing system and its features at any point in the product life cycle
  • Distill sensor product requirements into constraints and actionable engineering systems design discussions
  • Host cross-functional sensor design discussions with electrical, software, manufacturing, Translate sensor design discussions into design documents in the form of system block diagrams, functional requirements, and performance requirements
  • Define and debug hardware and software interactions during design, launch, and deployment
  • Support early sensor prototype development to de-risk new technologies
  • Define an integration test plan for sensing hardware products or software features with integration milestones that focus on de-risking product or feature deployment and align with the program timeline
  • Execute initial sensor bring-up and integration testing at the vehicle level to validate system design assumptions
  • Perform change impact analysis for change requests by summarizing impacted devices, interfaces, and processes in the hardware and software domain
  • Ensure sensing system is characterized across a host of environments
  • Support system validation teams in developing electrical and software test plans
  • Serve as the owner of a given sensing system and central point-of-contact for any issues during development or deployment
  • Understand and highlight impacts of electrical, software, or process changes
  • Manage priorities and support a host of projects simultaneously
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, experience and evidence of exceptional ability, or equivalent
  • 5-7+ years of experience in systems design, systems architecture, systems integration, or related field
  • Strong electrical and embedded systems fundamentals
  • Hands-on technical experience debugging complex subsystems involving network microprocessors and software-controlled electrical or electromechanical devices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable analyzing data as well as developing analytical tools
  • Experience in MATLAB, Python, C/C++ or equivalent tools for modeling and analysis

  • Drive piece price and tooling negotiation process to ensure that Tesla’s commodity pricing met Best-In-Class expectations, while meeting Supplier Industrialization standards of Best-In-Class quality, in addition to driving continual cost reduction and avoidance initiatives through ad-hoc price negotiations
  • Address all areas of category management including category business plans, market conditions, technology roadmaps, cost modeling, and sourcing strategies; Monitor global industry trends, track technology roadmaps, and actively partner with the Design teams to identify/mitigate supply and demand challenges
  • Manage respective supplier relationships and performance, including but not limited to dispute resolution, supplier scorecards, and periodic business reviews; Participate in design reviews, change control meetings, and other technical discussions with Engineering partners; participate in Design for Manufacturability reviews with Engineering partners and prospective suppliers, and drive decisions from a cost perspective

As part of this team, you will be responsible for influencing early-stage regulations by helping regulators understand new technologies and working with the broader vehicle software engineering organization to drive organization wide strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
