As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of industrial facilities equipment. This role involves hands-on work across a wide range of systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical. You will be expected to perform both preventative and emergency corrective maintenance, diagnose and repair complex systems, and ensure the overall safety and reliability of the facility’s infrastructure. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with diverse responsibilities that keep the facility running smoothly.
Maintain, operate, diagnose, and repair critical industrial facilities equipment, such as boilers, pumps, chillers, HVAC systems, roof top units (RTUs), large and small rollup doors, air compressors and dryers, cryogenic and chemical systems, ensuring continuous and efficient operation of infrastructure equipment
Perform thorough preventative and corrective maintenance on various facilities systems to minimize and avoid equipment downtime
Install, repair, and upgrade infrastructure equipment, including ductwork, piping, and electrical wiring, ensuring all installations meet safety and operational standards
Conduct regular inspections of mechanical and electrical systems to identify potential issues. Perform necessary repairs to prevent system failures
Monitor and oversee work performed by self-perform construction and subcontractors, ensuring their work aligns with facility standards and safety protocols
Support continuous improvement of facility operations by proactively identifying opportunities for enhancing safety, system performance, quality and reliability
Display positive attitude and practice strong work ethics that reflects the mission, philosophy and goals of Tesla
A minimum of 10 years of experience in facilities operations and maintenance within an industrial or commercial setting
Basic proficiency in MS Office Suite specifically Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams, piping, and instrumentation diagrams
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Demonstrated troubleshooting experience with electrical, Instrument & Controls and/or mechanical facility related systems
Extensive experience in safety practices and training on OSHA & Emergency Response requirements, fall protection, NFPA 70E and LOTO procedures

Collaborate with Engineers to develop, test, and validate new manufacturing processes and equipment to ensure efficient production of high-quality products
Troubleshoot remanufacturing process issues, collect and analyze data, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Review data for recent field failures, analyze alerts/ trends to determine failure mode, and define next steps for production line process
Create and maintain accurate process documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and process flow diagrams
Performs hands-on teardowns of special interest batteries, including component-level investigations of Power electronics and perform cell extraction
Prioritize team projects to focus on solving the top issues impacting production safety, quality, throughput, and cost
Prior experience working with li-ion and/or high voltage batteries preferred
Proven record of safety and diligence when working in dangerous environments; comfortable working on compromised HV batteries
Basic understanding of electrical principles (Ohms law, etc.), electrical circuits (resistors, capacitors, diodes, etc.), and basic battery concepts (state of charge, capacity, etc.)
Strong proficiency in workplace software (MSWord, Excel, Visio, Access, etc.) and utilizing SQL queries to access the database and pull reports
Excellent attention to detail, good organization, analytical and troubleshooting skills
Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal, with the ability to work across cross functional teams
