  • Receive incoming material utilizing proper practices for ESD (Electrostatic Sensitive Devices) and MSD (Moisture Sensitive Devices)
  • Register, label, and store materials into Tesla databank
  • Able to perform offline feeder setup and should be detailed oriented
  • Good understanding of SMT and plated through-hole component values and sizes
  • Perform inventory count and clear-to-builds (CTB) prior to the scheduled builds
  • Support the manufacturing engineering team to set-up the PCBA line by assembly components into appropriate feeders and loading them into the offline feeder tables
  • Perform kit returns, cycle counts, and updating inventory spread sheet
  • Understanding of approved vendor list (AVL) and part substitutions
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and retrieve packages from shipping and receiving
  • Follow written work instructions to do the following: build and pack boxes, load pallets, and apply labels
What You’ll Bring
  • Minumum 3+ years' experience in PCBA Manufacturing environment
  • Experience in a factory organization
  • Working knowledge of MRP and /or ERP system
  • Well organized with meticulous attention to detail
  • Data entry, math and computer skilled
  • Able to problem solve and work with minimal supervision toward a stated goal

What You’ll Do
  • Coordinate and prepare hazardous waste biennial reporting, universal and electronic waste reporting, and SB-14 Waste Reduction Plans. Conduct waste management self-audits and drive continuous improvements in waste segregation and compliance
  • Collect samples of new waste streams generated, characterize waste streams, and partner with the Tesla Hazardous Waste Operations Team to create waste profiles with third party vendors to support disposal requirements
  • Prepare and maintain Hazardous Material Business Plans (HMBP). Partner with internal stakeholders to develop new/improve existing databases for chemicals and hazardous materials. Support response and reporting efforts related to hazardous material spills and reporting. Prepare, update, and administer hazardous material and hazardous waste training content
  • Partner with Fire Engineers, EHS, and manufacturing stakeholders to ensure compliance with hazardous material storage maximum allowable quantities (MAQs). Partner with Design Managers and Fire Engineers on new projects that involve chemical materials to determine material classifications and ensure proper storage
  • Administer chemical approval process using established procedures. Manage the chemical inventory auditing program by partnering with EHS stakeholders. Support inspections and inquiries from regulatory agencies, including EPA, DTSC, CUPAs and local Fire Departments, State and Regional Waterboards, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with proper labeling and placarding across HMIS, NFPA, and GHS requirements as well as California Fire Code as related to CUPA/Fremont Fire Department routine inspections
  • Assist in planning for changes in physical facilities, reviewing new or modified equipment and new manufacturing programs to meet regulatory and company requirements. Develop, track, and report environmental metrics and manage Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), or willingness to obtain
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience supporting hazardous material and/or waste programs;
  • Experience managing regulatory/agency inspections
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and manage multi-faceted projects in a fast-paced environment, where demands and priorities change rapidly

  • Supervise the planning and ordering of time-critical materials to support Tesla’s manufacturing and service organizations, while minimizing freight costs and maintaining optimal inventory levels (avoid both shortages and overages). Act as escalation point for material concerns, lead daily shortage meetings to ensure supply continuity, report on KPIs (inventory days on hand, line interruptions, expedite costs, etc.) and enforce best practices
  • Foster and develop a strong team of material planners and potentially associate managers through selective recruitment, training and coaching. Tasks include proactively planning resources, communicating job expectations, providing performance feedback and managing the team in line with Tesla’s policies
  • Collaborate with other departments, including logistics, purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, service, and demand planning to support quarterly operational and long-term scaling objectives. Collaborate with purchasing, engineering, production and NPI to coordinate engineering change order timing for part revisions and new product launches, targeting minimal obsolescence
  • Identify and communicate potential supply risks and collaborate with purchasing and supplier industrialization teams to resolve structural and commercial issues
  • Identify and lead process improvement initiatives related to execution and planned growth, including but not limited to: procedural updates and communication pathways, improved hand-offs from purchasing to material planning and from material planning to internal customers, inventory optimization scenarios, analytics and KPI build-out, and employee training programs
  • Work with suppliers, purchasing and logistics to establish delivery quantity and frequency for Just-In-Time delivery and line-side Kanban
  • Enforce maintenance of MRP master data parameters to ensure accurate demand signals (i.e. lead times, MOQ’s, lot sizing, safety stock); identify and resolve system and/or BOM inaccuracies to preserve data integrity. Participate in and champion MRP system development activities, including specification writing, development, testing, and training
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Industrial Engineering or other related field or equivalent experience. CPIM or APIC training a plus
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in manufacturing, distribution, finance, or supply chain management. Minimum 3 years’ experience managing others (preferably other people leaders)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills in developing, implementing, and assessing key operational and financial metrics. Strong critical thinking and resolution skills in ambiguous situations
  • Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP with a solid understand of discrete manufacturing, bills of material, product lifecycle management, procure to pay processes and supply chain operations
  • Demonstrated skills in supplier operational and relationship management. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment
