  • Define and deliver a comprehensive product vision and strategy aligned with business objectives
  • Develop a product roadmap based on customer needs through user interviews, surveys, and stakeholder collaboration
  • Collaborate with software engineers, UX designers, and business stakeholders and understand supply chain fundamentals from Procurement, Material and Production planning, and Warehouse operations
  • Ensure the development of scalable and future-proof enterprise applications, considering current needs and future growth scenarios
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure customer satisfaction and the business impact of products and analyze KPIs for decision-making
  • Prioritize features, enhancements, architectural improvements, and operational excellence initiatives
  • Take ownership of projects from inception to release, including requirement definition, development facilitation, testing, and post-release assessment
  • Create use cases and business process flow charts, and conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure product quality
  • Utilize SQL, Python, and Excel for data analysis and to provide efficient business process solutions
  • Maintain comprehensive product documentation
What You’ll Bring
  • Preferred candidates will have 5+ years of experience in product management, data analysis, and developing systems in the supply chain domain or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to make assumptions and decisions
  • Strong SQL skills and exposure to API-based systems integration platforms
  • Ability to successfully work with various teams, including IT engineering, business stakeholders and end users
  • Have a good understanding of and working experience in technology development best practices (such as Agile) and product management strategies
  • Ability to work independently, detail-oriented, and execution-focused
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience or familiarity with supply chain operations

What to Expect
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Software Systems Manager to support our Supply Chain Organization by leading the software development initiatives of key Tesla supply chain applications. You will be part of a team that is managing strategic initiatives and continuous improvement efforts across all of Tesla’s Supply Chain Management Team. The role requires the ability to build strong cross-functional working relationships with our technical engineers, supply chain, finance, internal audit, and vendor onboarding teams, as you lead respective software development lifecycle from requirements articulation through feature deployment. You will interact with stakeholders across all levels of the organization, including our buyers as well as executives on a regular basis and hence require the ability to perform hands on operational tasks as well as strategize and communicate on longer term complex solutions. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing as well as presentation skills are crucial, as is the ability to synthesize complex issues, drive desired outcomes, and influence stakeholders across functions inside and outside Tesla.
What You’ll Do
  • Lead key software products utilized by Tesla’s global supply chain teams, including long-term roadmap development
  • Act as the technical supply chain liaison for all internal application requests and coordinate requirements with cross-functional teams
  • Document business requirements with supporting use cases, process workflows and dependencies, and propose technical solutions for respective applications
  • Partner with technical IT engineering team to develop scalable applications or complex workflows
  • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and develop product documentation to be consumed by application users
  • Align cross-functionally with independent contributors and senior leadership interacting with respective applications
  • Oversee feature prioritization and engineering resource allocation through sprint cycles considering long-term roadmap and short-term objectives
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Information Systems Management), evidence of exceptional ability, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience with evidence of successful software product implementation throughout the software development lifecycle (e.g. software product manager)
  • Experience working across and successfully influencing multiple internal stakeholders (IT development, supply chain, finance, legal, etc.)
  • Experience tracking operational metrics and dashboards using SQL and visualization tools preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously with complex deadlines and large cross-functional stakeholder groups
  • Exceptional concise communications, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills

  • Experience with Code of Federal Regulations and Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards
  • Ability to exercise business and financial judgment with strong problem-solving, research, and project management skills
  • Preferably, having an engineering or technical background, and/or significant transportation or vehicle experience
