What to Expect

Responsibilities involve coordination of cross functional task forces involved in this project as well as direct individual contribution in form of testing, analysis, coding and subjective evaluation.

You’ll be responsible to organize test activities, simulation activities and process available data.

You’ll be involved in defining procedures and metrics both subjective/objective together with the attribute subject matter experts.

You’ll be responsible to define our Roadmap for target setting cascade in the early phases on new programs and collaborate with program managers and software engineers to develop a tool that best tracks this process.

What You’ll Do
  • Work closely with attribute teams to review current subjective an objective attribute trackers
  • Update/improve existing test procedures and define new methodologies
  • Manage project development plan, including test planning, instrumentation management, vehicles requests/management
  • Work closely with vehicle modeling team to ensure that any learning can be correlated to our virtual environments in form of simulation and driver in the loop simulator
  • Work with the vehicle modeling infrastructure team and software team to define requirements and deliver a data post-processing environment and database
  • Work with vehicle modeling team to improve processes and methodologies for vehicle models correlation based on both components and vehicle test data
  • Work with the Motion Controls and Chassis Controls teams to communize toolchain for objective testing and data post processing
  • Work with the Firmware organization to deliver ad-hoc actuator controls to enable high fidelity objective testing with minimal utilization of external tools
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Physics, or equivalent experience
  • 10 + years of experience in automotive development
  • Experience with objective testing, data analysis and vehicle instrumentation
  • Proficient in Matlab, Simulink, Python as well as common calibration tools for active systems
  • Experience with subjective attributes evaluation (Vehicle Dynamics, Brake pedal feel, NVH, Drivability, Ergonomics etc.)
  • Experience in direct or indirect management of teams of at least 5 people
  • Subjective vehicle performance evaluation both below and above the adhesion limit
  • Subjective vehicle performance evaluation at very high speed is a plus
  • Subjective vehicle performance evaluation in all surface condition (snow, wet, dry, off-road)
  • Knowledge of C and similar firmware environment is a plus
