Job Description

The Reconciliation team completes daily reconciliation of Global Bulk Payment and Wholesale Banknote Nostro accounts including funding of a sub set of accounts along with Visa integrated virtual account reconciliation. Conduct outreach to nostro accounts held globally for investigations related to debits/credits on the account for additional information, as required. Prepare GL entries, as required. Support Wholesale Banknote daily funding analysis reports. Position supports any ad hoc requests related to the accounts and monitoring of aging per GRG policies and procedures.

Reconcile Canada Branch Nostro accounts, aging transactions, certificaiton of account balances, preparing swift messages and other PNL, funding reports, and preparing daily/monthly reports including ahoc requests. This job is responsible for analyzing the day-to-day issues, researching, and providing resolution for various issues identified within a business unit. Key responsibilities include building new procedures, completing complex non-routine analytics, creating reports, and reviewing exception testing and processing. Job expectations include supporting continuous improvement of processes by identifying trends and understanding the operations environment.

Qualifications

  • Prioritize daily tasks to ensure deadlines and deliverables are met

  • Identify and implement process improvements

  • Provide support to other departments and traders on reconciliation-related inquiries

  • Supports the manager in documentation, implementation and mentoring of new process

  • Representing department manager on meetings & projects during absences

  • Act as a back up during team member's absence

  • Perform audit walkthroughs and gathering of data and/or documents to support audit requests (internal/external)

Qualifications

  • Experience in bank account reconciliation

  • Experience with AS400/Global Bulk system an asset

  • Accounting background required

  • Identify, mitigate and report on risk issues according to guidelines and ensure appropriate escalation processes are followed; raise nonstandard issues to relevant shareholders and audit management where required
  • Ensure the developed strategy in integration with overall audit strategy and implemented accordingly while leading enterprise initiatives to provide guidance for complex situations
  • Develop the divisional annual plan for the risk assessment process while leading audit engagement work activities to ensure adequate risk coverage
  • Lead all the activities providing recommendations, and decision support to leadership while handling the facilitation and implementation of internal audit remediation plans to address performance, risk and governance issues
  • Be a strategic advisor to leadership team on the management of the portfolio and financials with deep industry and enterprise knowledge.
  • Connect with key stakeholders for prioritizing portfolios after forecasting initiatives and demand while ensuring messages to them is appropriate and in line with business strategies and executive management direction
  • Lead the team in the development and integrated implementation of policies, processes, procedures, changes across multiple audit areas while ensuring they follow applicable regulations and stay knowledgeable one merging issues, trends, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide people management leadership by administering the implementation and completion of performance management activities and providing continuous feedback and training.
  • Build a positive and diverse work environment where team members can share their challenges by giving them equal opportunities and inspiring them to achieve common objectives.

Job Requirements:

  • Over 10 years of relevant experience with undergraduate degree or relevant professional certifications, accounting designations, or equivalent education
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of businesses and organizational practices and disciplines
  • Champions in external competition, industry and market trends in relation to own functional area
  • Ardent in processing and handling confidential information with discretion while acting with the highest levels of integrity
  • Experience auditing infrastructure including Network, Cloud, Operating Systems, and Databases
  • A good understanding of risks and controls within a technical environment is required, as well as the ability to document and test these controls
  • Ability to multitask and work in a team environment is crucial
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and apply general and specific administrative and departmental policies and procedures, as well as applicable federal & state laws and regulations.
  • Overall understanding of audit techniques, internal controls and audit principles
  • Ability to manage and execute audits, from planning to audit closing
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including ability to write clear and concise audit recommendations and reports
  • Proficiency with MSOffice, analytical tools and Internet applications
  • A strong negotiator and decision maker who can influence business leaders and make rational choices
  • A dynamic leader who can work collaboratively and build relationships across teams and functions

Job Responsibilities:


We are looking for someone to lead the creation of a comprehensive end-to-end detailed solution with overall accountability for the technical design, implementation, testing and support of the system in production. You'll be exposed to stretch assignments as you take on large-scale, complex and/or enterprise-wide projects.

  • As part of an agile team, you will be responsible for producing technical deliverables from inception through to deployment.

  • Write clean code that is maintainable, optimized and aligns to best practices.

  • Work with BSAs and QAs to understand and implement business functionalities.

  • Collaborate cohesively with team members to help advance each other skills.

  • Active contribution to enhance and advance standards, processes, procedures.

  • Consult on development of the System Requirements Specification (SRS).

  • Review technical deliverables for quality throughout detailed design and development phase, identify gaps or redesign as needed.

  • Conduct code reviews to address quality, standards compliance, reusability and ease of maintenance and operational Readiness Reviews.

  • Support knowledge management processes and ensure knowledge is codified, monitored, tracked and managed.

  • Ensure design leverages existing reusable components, traces back to business requirements, and that new modules are designed with reusability in mind.

  • Identify and address any issue that affects the integrity of the application ( e.g.cross-capability/releaseissues).

  • Support enterprise application troubleshooting in production such as for performance issues.

Required:

  • Expert knowledge and 5+ years of experience on core Java 8+ (we use Java 17).

  • Expert knowledge and 5+ years of experience on Spring framework 5+ (Boot, Cloud, Web, Data …).

  • Expert knowledge and 5+ years of experience on Test-Driven Development & Behavior-Driven Development using Junit 5 & Mockito 5.

  • Good knowledge and 5+ years of experience on Source Code Management and building tools such as GitHub, Bitbucket and Maven.

  • Good knowledge and experience working with messaging systems such as IBM MQ & Apache Kafka.

  • Good knowledge and experience with CI/CD pipelines.

  • Good knowledge and experience working on Oracle databases.

  • Good knowledge and experience in software design patterns and coding standards.

  • Good understanding of SDLC and agile methodologies such as Scrumban.

  • Good English verbal and written communication skills.

Desired:

  • Certification: OCP Oracle Certified Professional Java SE 17 / 21 is a plus.

  • Experience monitoring and diagnosing Java applications, particularly in production environments to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, threading issues, and other problems that can impact application efficiency and stability is ahuge plus.

The Reconciliation team completes daily reconciliation of Global Bulk Payment and Wholesale Banknote Nostro accounts including funding of a sub set of accounts along with Visa integrated virtual account reconciliation. Conduct outreach to nostro accounts held globally for investigations related to debits/credits on the account for additional information, as required. Prepare GL entries, as required. Support Wholesale Banknote daily funding analysis reports. Position supports any ad hoc requests related to the accounts and monitoring of aging per GRG policies and procedures.

Reconcile Canada Branch Nostro accounts, aging transactions, certificaiton of account balances, preparing swift messages and other PNL, funding reports, and preparing daily/monthly reports including ahoc requests. This job is responsible for analyzing the day-to-day issues, researching, and providing resolution for various issues identified within a business unit. Key responsibilities include building new procedures, completing complex non-routine analytics, creating reports, and reviewing exception testing and processing. Job expectations include supporting continuous improvement of processes by identifying trends and understanding the operations environment.

Qualifications

  • Prepare the daily P&L and Due From Limit reports

  • Prepare and investigate the daily GFX variances and balancing reports

  • Handle the daily bank account reconciliation

  • Ensure assigned online support cases are completed

  • Investigate and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner, adhering to policies and procedures

  • Certify accounts on Frontier monthly

  • Prepare monthly Revenue Payback and FATCA remittance

  • Ensure quality service and effective and efficient operations support for internal business partners and external customers

  • Prioritize daily tasks to ensure deadlines and deliverables are met

  • Identify and implement process improvements

  • Provide support to other departments and traders on reconciliation-related inquiries

  • Supports the manager in documentation, implementation and mentoring of new process

  • Representing department manager on meetings & projects during absences

  • Act as a back up during team member's absence

  • Perform audit walkthroughs and gathering of data and/or documents to support audit requests (internal/external)

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Experience in bank account reconciliation

  • Experience with AS400/Global Bulk system an asset

  • Accounting background required

  • Solid computer skills including Excel and strong analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; team player

  • Ability to meet established deadlines in a fast paced environment

  • Commitment to teamwork

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of processes and procedures

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
