  • Identify your client's life and financial goals, provide comprehensive reviews and build long-term relationships through financial planning expertise, relationship building and ongoing services
  • Conduct reporting and relevant analysis using results to draw conclusions, make recommendations and continually assess the effectiveness of programs, policies and practices
  • Contribute to team and department goals while strengthening customer service and dedication
  • Monitor service, productivity and assess efficiency and implement continuous improvements
  • Be knowledgeable of best practices and procedures and stay ahead of emerging trends
  • Acquire and apply expertise, provide mentorship, assistance and direction to others
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by aligned risk appetite
  • Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive and service-oriented work environment


Educational Requirements:

  • University Degree (preferred)
  • 3 – 5 years within the financial services industry managing client relationships, providing financial advice and tailored investment solutions (preferred)
  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or CFA Level 1 (or higher) required before start date
  • Complete Conduct & Practices Handbook (CPH) within first 90 days in role
  • CIRO Registered Representative (RR) license within first 90 days in role
  • Complete Wealth Management Essentials (WME) within first 30 months in role
  • Achieve Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation within first 3 years in role
    • CFP Eligibility requirements:
      University Degree OR meetoneof the following:
      • Up to 10 years of qualifying work experience
      • Have been a QAFP professional in good standing for a minimum of 5 years at the time of applying

Skills you will require:

  • Passion for financial planning and driven to help clients reach their financial & life goals
  • Possess an entrepreneurial spirit to prospect external business development opportunities through networking and have experience in high value sales and business development
  • Deep understanding of the industry, competitive landscape, economic market issues, and the regulatory environment
  • You have excellent people and problem-solving skills that help you build and maintain client relationships
  • Strong communication skills with ability to work collaboratively and independently, provide assistance and build relationships

Job Description:

In this role, you are expected to:

  • Play a key role in advising customers of high-level financial solutions from a range of available investment and credit banking solutions
  • By asking thoughtful financial questions, engage with customers and create positive experiences to retain and deepen relationships
  • Increase customer financial confidence by providing personalized financial advice, answering customer questions, and addressing their concerns; raising matters as appropriate to team members or partners while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy
  • Act as a point of contact for the frontline staff in handling customer problems
  • Maintain professional space in common areas as per marketing and regulatory guidelines
  • Work closely with existing and prospective customers to provide financial reviews, discuss portfolio updates and suggest additional personalized solutions based on their financial goals
  • Stay knowledgeable about emerging issues, evolving regulations and industry codes of conduct as well as participate in process improvement opportunities to protect the interests of the organization
  • Strive to achieve and improve service level agreements and productivity targets
  • Ensure documents are prepared consistent with relevant regulations and in a way properly reflecting business intentions
  • Participate fully as a team member, help build a positive and diverse work environment, willingly assist and mentor others in the completion of work activities, and address communication issues efficiently

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma and/or 1 year of relevant experience
  • Post-Secondary or Undergraduate degree in related field is an asset
  • Completion of IFIC or equivalent required
  • CFSA must be completed within 12 months, if hired
  • Real estate secured lending and/or investment experience an asset
  • Sound knowledge of advanced investing and credit processes, banking solutions and concepts in order to provide personalized advice to customers in a fast-paced work environment
  • Proficiency in software tools including MS Office, and internet application
  • Tactful communicator able to exchange ideas and customer information in a concise and logical way
  • A self-initiator with strong organizational, planning and time management skills
