Roles andResponsibilities:

As a Research Intern, you will conduct novel and advanced research with internal members. You are expected to be self-motivated and have the ability to conduct and implement innovative ideas with internal collaborations. Also, we expect the outcome will be published as academic papers.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Strong technical background in machine learning and deep learning
• Experience in developing novel models or algorithms, with a track record of publishing papers at major conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, CVPR, etc.).
• Excellent analytical and programming skills for large-scale deep learning
• Strong communication and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Diverse experience and knowledge in generative models, representation learning or general realm of deep learning
• Have some experience in multiple modalities of deep learning, such as computer vision, natural language processing or audio

During your internship, you will be paired with a mentor and work with them closely on all aspects of research, from defining research problems to developing new ML solutions to presenting your findings at top publication venues.

You will:

As a Research Intern, you will work with other members of the team on developing innovative AI-based solutions. You will investigate, develop and apply novel machine learning algorithms that combine Audio Signal Processing and Deep Learning techniques with a strong focus on large-scale models for audio understanding and retrieval.

You will bring:

• Being engaged in a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related fields during the whole stay of the internship.
• Excellent analytical and programming skills for large-scale deep learning.
• Expertise in deep learning for audio signal processing.
• Solid coding expertise with Python.
• Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Curiosity about music & audio production.
• Research experience and knowledge in generative models.
• Record of relevant scientific publications.

The role of a research intern is to conduct innovative research, develop methodologies, design and prototype solutions. You will work with a fast-growing team of world-class scientists and engineers to tackle the most challenging problems in foundation models and generative AI, including vision foundation model (VFM), knowledge transfer into VFM, data synthesis, federated learning, and model compression from VFM to small models on edge. You will:

• Conduct fundamental and innovative research in large vision foundation model, data synthesis, federated learning and knowledge distillation, including but not limited to architecture design and methodology design.

• Be self-motivated and capable of proposing and implementing innovative ideas.

• Deep understanding of large vision foundation model development and various CV applications, such as Image classification, object detection, pose detection, semantic image segmentation, etc.

• Write reports and give presentations to internal and external audiences.

• Contribute to library and tool development to support research and business.

• Publish influential research outcomes in top-tier conferences and journals.

You will bring:

• Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a master/PhD degree in computer science or related field.

• Publications or expertise in computer vision applications (e.g., object detection, segmentation), vision and multi-modal foundation model, data synthesis, knowledge distillation, federated learning, etc.

• Ability to communicate research in a clear and precise manner.

• Excellent analytical and programming skills in large-scale deep learning.

• Familiar with Python, Pytorch, etc.

• Experience with research communities, including having published papers at conferences, e.g., CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, etc.

• Strong communication and presentation skills
