Senior Procurement Project Manager – Electrical Components



Your Role

As the Senior Procurement Project Manager, you will drive end-to-end sourcing initiatives for electrical component modules, focusing on pre-NPI (New Product Introduction) phases. You’ll act as the strategic interface between engineering/module teams and our commodity teams, translating product and technical requirements into actionable sourcing briefs and enabling supplier-driven innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cost Optimization Leadership: Champion cost optimization by challenging the status quo and finding the right balance between product requirements, consumer needs, and supplier capabilities. Leverage deep insight into electrical components and product functionality to drive competitive advantage.
  • Project Leadership: Lead pre-NPI scouting and sourcing projects for electrical components, ensuring alignment with product development timelines and technical specifications.
  • Cross-Functional Interface: Serve as the bridge between module teams and procurement, facilitating clear communication and strategic alignment.
  • Sourcing Briefs: Translate complex product and engineering requirements into structured, actionable sourcing briefs.
  • Innovation Enablement: Identify and pursue supplier-enabled innovation opportunities tied to concrete NPI product needs.
  • Roadmap Facilitation: Guide long-term roadmap discussions between module teams and suppliers to ensure future readiness and strategic alignment.
  • Negotiation Strategy: Support defining negotiation strategies with our commodity team and support execution to maximize business outcomes.
  • Risk & Value Assessment: Evaluate supplier capabilities, risks, and value contributions in the context of product and business goals.
  • Lifecycle Support: Oversee sourcing activities across product lifecycle phases, including Phase-In/Phase-Out (PIPO) planning.
  • Resilience: Support initiatives through kaizen events and continuous improvement programs to shorten lead times, define global supply footprint and local eco systems.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in procurement or sourcing, with a focus on electrical components.
  • Proven success in leading complex sourcing projects and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong understanding of global and China-specific supply markets and trends.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in consumer goods or health technology sectors.
  • Experience with digital procurement platforms and analytics tools.
  • Experienced with latest LLM and AI tools to leverage in your daily work
  • Certifications such as PMP, CPSM, or APICS.
  • Multilingual capabilities and international work experience.

    • Set clear goals and expectations for the team, ensuring alignment with the overall procurement strategy and the objectives of each product category within the Beauty category.
  • Procurement Strategy Development and Execution:
    • Develop and implement a forward-thinking procurement strategy that leverages the full potential of the supply base as part of the value chain, with a strong focus on cost efficiency, quality, and speed.
    • Utilize ODM supply models to strategically outsource product development, reducing the need for in-house efforts and accelerating product launches.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Serve as the procurement single point of contact within the Beauty Category, collaborating closely with marketing, R&D, life cycle management, finance, and other cross-functional teams to ensure procurement activities are fully integrated with business goals and timelines for each product line.
    • Promote innovative procurement solutions within the cross-functional team, driving the adoption of new supply chain models and approaches.
  • Supplier Management and Development:
    • Oversee supplier scouting, selection, and sourcing processes with an entrepreneurial approach, ensuring that suppliers contribute to cost, quality, and innovation goals.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, driving continuous improvement initiatives and leveraging ODM partnerships to enhance product offerings and reduce costs.
  • KPI Management:
    • Own and manage key procurement KPIs, including Bill of Materials (BOM) savings, on-time delivery of projects, and supplier performance metrics across the three product lines.
    • Continuously assess procurement performance, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership that align with strategic business objectives and entrepreneurial initiatives.
    • Drive the BOM Savings funnel via Design for excellence, Value Engineering and Supplier Ideation workshops and manage the BOM cost reduction program across the 3 product lines.
  • Innovation and Best Practices:
    • Lead initiatives to scout and integrate new suppliers that bring innovation, cost efficiency, and quality improvements to each of the three consumer electronics product categories, with a particular focus on leveraging ODM models.
    • Stay ahead of market trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in consumer electronics procurement, applying this knowledge to continuously evolve the procurement strategy and drive value creation.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Educational Background:
    • Master degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of experience in procurement, with a proven track record in a leadership role within the consumer electronics industry.
    • Extensive experience in developing and executing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and leading cross-functional teams across multiple product categories.
    • Extensive experience in Value Engineering, Design for eXcellence, LEAN, Statistical process control and/or Six Sigma
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset and Strategic Thinking:
    • Strong entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to leverage the supply base as part of the value chain and strategically utilize ODM supply models to drive business success.
    • Strategic thinker with the ability to align procurement activities with broader business objectives and the specific needs of each product category.
  • KPI and Performance Management:
    • Demonstrated ability to manage and achieve key procurement KPIs, particularly in areas such as BOM savings, on-time project delivery, and supplier quality, across multiple consumer electronics product categories.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Proven experience working in a cross-functional environment, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with diverse teams in the consumer electronics sector.
  • Supplier and Risk Management:
