leveragingcutting edgeAI/ML techniques, such as graph neural networks and deep learning models.
Define an end-to-end vision for domain, including Signal Collection, Consumer Embedding, Product and Merchant Embeddings and retrieval/ranking pipelines.
LeverageGenAItools such as ChatGPT, Gemini andLlammato accelerate development of recommendation models.
Communicate complex concepts and the results of models and analyses to both technical and non-technical audiences. Influencing partners including product stakeholders.
Work in close partnership with our engineering group and PayPal's Platforms organization and drive the adoption of ML/AI solutions throughout the organization.
Grow and scale a teamoftop-performing
This position is hybrid and requires in-office presence about 3 days a week in our San Jose, CA Headquarters.
What do you need to bring:
Strong background in Machine Learning with practical experience in building and implementing large-scale predictive models and recommendation systems.
Expertisein Customer Facing AI/ML Recommendation applications on a large-scale consumer-facing app.
Preferred to have industryexpertisein e-commerce recommendations, Ads relevance or other related applications.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence partners and customers with your insights andexpertise.
Ability to groomsenior ICs
Advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields. At least 2 years of experience managing teams and 6 years of experience in AI/ML for Consumer orrelevantApplications.

Job Description:
Your day to day
Develop and implement advanced ML models, such as gradient boosted decision tree, graph neural networks and deep learning models, to solve critical business problems related to recommendation of PayPal products, personalizing product experiences including UI flows, and optimizing the lifecycle of the customers on the platform.
Design and deploy scalable generative AI solutions as part of the ecosystem.
Design and deploy scalable ML/AI solutions that enhance PayPal's ability to provide a seamless customer experience, by working closely with our engineering group and PayPal's Platforms organization.
Communicate complex concepts and the results of models and analyses to both technical and non-technical audiences, influencing partners and customers with your insights andexpertise
What do you need to bring:
degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, etc.) with 5+ yrs. of relevant industry experience or PhD with 4+ yrs. of relevant industry experience
Experience in any one of Recommendation, Ranking, Product and Marketing domains a big plus
Proficient in Programming languages such as Python, SQL.
Familiarityinrelevant machine learning frameworks and packages such asTensorflowandPyTorch. GCP/Hadoop and big data experience – an advantage
Experience leading ML projects and greattrack recorddelivering solutions with attention to detail and efficiency
Experience shipping Realtime models a big plus
Fluent spoken and written English communication with business and engineering partners to exchange requirements, explain solution methodologies, and influence with insights
