This job engages with merchants, communicates operational processes, solicits client feedback, demonstrates product knowledge, assists in account configurations, handles client issues, monitors account activity, acts as the primary contact for client issues, collects feedback, identifies growth opportunities, and understands the importance of merchant satisfaction. It involves ensuring timely resolutions and enhancing client experiences.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Engages with merchants to identify their needs and provides timely responses to requests. Conducts regular check-ins to enhance relationships.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with merchants about operational processes and product features. Shares relevant updates to keep clients informed.
  • Actively solicits client feedback to identify service improvement areas. Implements minor changes based on this feedback to enhance the client experience.
  • Demonstrates foundational knowledge of product features and functionalities, addressing basic client inquiries effectively.
  • Keeps informed about basic industry trends and regulations relevant to merchant services, sharing insights with clients as needed.
  • Assists clients in account configurations, providing guidance on standard offerings and features.
  • Handles standard client issues independently, ensuring timely resolutions and effectively managing client expectations.
  • Monitors basic account activity to identify potential issues and responds as needed.
  • Acts as the primary contact for client issues, ensuring needs are promptly addressed with minimal escalation.
  • Acknowledges and utilizes the role of feedback in service improvement, collecting feedback during interactions and sharing insights with the team.
  • Recognizes general signs of growth opportunities within merchant accounts, such as increased transaction volumes or new service inquiries.
  • Understands the importance of merchant satisfaction in retention efforts and can articulate how positive experiences impact loyalty.

Expected Qualifications:

  • 1+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualification:

Fluency in both Spanish and English.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Initiate accounting processes to ensure financial statements meet local GAAP
  • Monitor the accounting closing process and post journal entries for any required adjustments in the local ledger
  • Support the organization in meeting local and global regulatory obligations
  • Drive process control rigor to support quarterly certification on financials
  • Implement monthly financial reports and analytics to support structured risk-based monthly financial reviews
  • Implement statutory financial statements and ensure timely completion of statutory audits
  • Facilitate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting close activities
  • Review and prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, roll-forwards, and month-end reporting packages

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualification:

In your day-to-day role you will be responsible for

  • Management and submission of periodic financial regulatory reporting obligations for PayPal’s licensed entities in the LATAM Region to Regulators including Bacen, Banxico, CNBV and Government Agencies..
  • Generation of management dashboards to report, monitor and forecast regulatory metrics, primarily related to Capital and Liquidity of licensed entities.
  • Working with key stakeholders in the LATAM region including Regulatory Reporting Leadership, Data Sourcing & Governance, GEM, Compliance, Legal, Controllership and Treasury teams to manage reporting obligations and information requirements with a high degree of quality assurance.
  • Perform reconciliation of output against financial accounts and other data points ensuring any differences are remediated in advance of reporting or explained as appropriate.
  • Generate process efficiencies with particular focus on risk reduction through automation.
  • Integrate risk based operating procedures and checklists focusing heavily on internal controls throughout.
  • Proactively investigating, resolving, and communicating any issues to internal stakeholders.
  • Preparing and presenting periodic updates to Regulatory, Compliance and Finance Leadership.
  • Supporting integration of new acquisitions and products by managing data requirements, process set up and change management of reporting obligations.
  • Monitoring the development of regulations in LATAM to ensure advance awareness and preparatory tasks are undertaken early to implement changes as prescribed by legislation and published circulars.
  • Assisting the global Regulatory Reporting and Governance team with any related initiatives outside of the LATAM region.

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant or finance professional (or similar BSc, BA), preferably with a Big 4 background and ~6+ years’ professional experience in banking/payments/financialservices industries.
  • High level of expertise in sourcing, interrogating and manipulating data in various forms and code from multiple systems/platforms. Knowledge of AI, macros, SQL and tableau an advantage.
  • Keen analytical and problem-solving experience with a strong focus on quality assurance of output.
  • Understanding of regulations affecting the Banking and Payments industries across LATAM and globally.
  • Familiarity with financial statements preparation using local and international accounting standards including local GAAP and IFRS.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with fluency in English mandatory.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and deliver in a fast paced and dynamic environment with a high degree of personal accountability, integrity and trust.
  • Proven success in working collaboratively within cross-functional teams, both locally and globally.
  • Technical proficiency with various data systems and reporting platforms. SAP is an advantage.
  • Ability to create and maintain a balanced and positive work environment.
  • Strong capabilities in process improvement and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting, sharing knowledge and expertise effectively with colleagues.
  • Willingness to take on additional Regulatory Reporting work unrelated to the LATAM region.
  • Ability to escalate issues and seek guidance as required.
