Overview of Job Function:

We are looking for a strong Backend Developer with vast experience in building cloud based, high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications, to join our outstanding Verint Analytics team. You will be part of a talented software team that works on strategic enterprise Realtime Analytics products. You will be responsible for product development, troubleshooting, challenging problem resolution, code fixes and full development life cycle, of Analytics solutions.
You will be responsible for SW design, proof of concepts, and development of complex solutions. You will be responsible for feature leading, working and leading the feature virtual team through all execution perspectives. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements and business needs in order to define best SW design solutions.

Responsibilities

Analyze and influence technical, system, and other user requirements.
Design SW solutions, considering large scale, high availability, security, robustness, performance, cloud, multi tenancy.
Develop highest standard code, complex solutions, in enterprise level application and architecture
Feature leading - leading engineers working on a mutual feature through integrations, reviews, status reports, problem solving.
Work with cross functional stakeholders such as product management, additional SW engineers, architects and team leads.
Deep understanding of robust implementations, performance and sizing.
Deep understanding and advanced implementation of continuous Integration and delivery.
Strong understanding and oversee of all phases of the development life cycle, such as Automation, CI\CD, TDD, Integrations, Builds, Deployment.
Own your production environment ownership (You Build it - You Own It - You Run It)


Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science / software engineering (or similar)

  • Practical experience of 15 years of SW development
  • Thorough understanding on distributed systems and architecting the solution, scalable design on both functional and non-functional aspects wrt Performance, latency and high availability
  • Understanding of cloud-native and multi-cloud solutions
  • Extensive working experience on observability e.g. Datadog, Prometheus, tracing
  • Ability to lead multiple projects technically
  • Outstanding in Java, Node.JS development skills
  • Good experience on Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, Redis and WebSocket
  • Solid experience in source control tools (GIT, SVN etc), Jenkins, CI/CD and DevOps process
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Self-learner and self-managed.
  • System wide and end to end product and security understanding.
  • Leadership skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, high communication skills.

In our embedded Linux based products, we not only leverage Linux itself but all kinds of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS). Apart from the obvious advantages that come with deploying FOSS, there’s the continuous challenge of keeping our FOSS secure and up to date. It is in this context that we are reinforcing our team with a software developer who is passionate about open source software in general and security in particular. In this role, you will contribute to the day-to-day maintenance of our FOSS components, as well as to innovative ways to streamline and automate the latter. Next that, you will help setting out and execute our FOSS strategy on the longer term.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

As part of our team, you will:

  • Clarify customer requirements;
  • Acquire a thorough insight into a wide variety of hardware components, going from simple i2c temperature sensors, over persistent storage devices (eMMC, NOR) to full Systems-on-Chip (typically supported by a reference design) and research how these components fit into new to-be-developed products;
  • Be accountable for the long-term quality of the software delivered;
  • Interact with project managers to give regular updates of identified issues;
  • Write (mainly) C / (occasionally) C++ code, make files, scripts, …
  • Write test cases (Python or shell script) that validate the written code, and automate them;
  • Estimate and measure the consumed CPU cycles and on-board memory;
  • Troubleshoot software on target hardware and in a simulation environment;
  • Streamline FOSS maintenance and reporting through advanced automation strategies;
  • Define (long term) strategy of FOSS maintenance and evolution.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

You have:

  • Knowledge of real-time operating system concepts (interrupts, tasks, concurrency, …);
  • Hands-on experience with C (and C++) is indispensable
  • Knowledge of FOSS (Buildroot, Linux kernel, (GNU cross compilation) toolchains, …);
  • Knowledge of cloud concepts;
  • Genuine interest in new technologies;
  • Ability to work fluently with Linux (as operating system);
  • Eagerness and agility to learn fast and be challenged on a daily basis
  • Passion in handling complex systems and projects
  • “out-of-the-box” thinking
  • The ambition to work autonomously after the needed training
  • Fluency in English
