Job Description
- Primarily responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnosing with quality on-site repairs of KLA’s complex capital equipment at customer sites.
- Drive system level corrective actions and repairs based on technical knowledge, education, and training to isolate issues, minimizing equipment downtime, interruptions, and malfunctions.
- Successfully complete ongoing technical training on KLA products, acquiring detailed knowledge of semiconductor capital equipment, application of diagnostic techniques, and practical field troubleshooting.
- Prepare field service reports on customer support activities and provide documentation to other supporting functions on re-occurring issues.
- Assist and prepare quotes for customer equipment repairs based on parts needed, reason for equipment failure, time, and costs associated with repairs.
- Represent KLA as a subject matter expert to the customer including accountability for customer satisfaction.
- Assure operational quality of system equipment and coordinate activities with customer to minimize equipment downtime.
- Aid Installation and Upgrade Engineers in resolving problems regarding equipment startup and relocation.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, cross training, and technical assistance to junior engineers.
- Contribute to capturing, re-use, collaboration, and improvement of knowledge using available systems.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of an Associate Degree from an accredited school in electronics / electro-mechanical discipline or equivalent military technical training
- Able to work in a clean room environment while wearing personal protective safety equipment, or cleanroom suit.
- Frequently position oneself (e.g., bend, stoop, reach, walk, sit, twist, squat, kneel, climb, stand) to perform job tasks for extended periods.
- International and domestic travel is required.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including compressed workweeks including overtime and on-call if needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic semiconductor industry process knowledge.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency in software, electronics, optics, mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electro-optical systems, schematics, diagrams, and operation manuals.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Solid analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
- Goodinterpersonal/communicationskills in understanding customer needs.
- Ability to work under pressure and with stringent timelines to minimize customer impact and system downtime.
- Maintain excellent working relationship with customers, customer support engineers, applications engineers, technical support, and sales team.

As the need arises, collaborate with specialists and other teams to craft an optimized plan of action to resolve the technical issues and recover equipment functionality to customer satisfaction. Document troubleshooting processes and technical findings to generate service reports and presentations.
Responsibilities:
To respond to ongoing technical issues of KLA equipment where field product support teams were unable to solve.
To assist field engineers in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and debugging sophisticatedoptical/electro/mechanicalequipment, computer systems, coupled with software solutions.
Working on challenging problems requires in-depth system knowledge and a sound understanding of operating principles.
Exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, and techniques for achieving results.
To collaborate with specialists and other teams to craft an optimized plan of action to resolve the technical issues and recover equipment functionality to customer satisfaction.
Travel within the region and worldwide to support escalated issues on-site on short notice.
Create document content relative to troubleshooting processes, technical findings, provide service and postmortem reports.
May be involved in tool installation, relocation, and upgrade of equipment
Drive & Champion 8D troubleshooting Methodology within the TSE team
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor or Masters' degree in Engineering or Science discipline
Strong project management skills is a plus
Hands-on experience in hardware and software integration, testing and solving in semiconductor wafer inspection systems is an advantage
Minimum Qualifications
Basic Knowledge of Electron beam Microscopy
Minimum of 5 years of working experience
Excellent data analytical and diagnostic skills
Good presentation and interpersonal skills
Proficient with all Windows Office suite applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI.
50% travel to customers is required

A CSE providing service support for customer Intel, Oregon. The CSE is responsible for providing tool repair, customer management, and performing all associated logistics tasks.
The CSE has good trouble shooting skills and be proficient in working on semiconductor equipment within a cleanroom environment. CSE should be self-motivated and driven to provide the best support for KLA customers. CSE should demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills as communication with customers, co-workers, and management is critical to the role.
