In this opportunity the team(LEC) is looking a new intern.

Jobs responsibilities:

Collaborates/Support LEC team with:

  • Internal reports
  • Selected reports to be presented to different regulator (SBS, BCRP, SMV)
  • Update/preparation of SOP’s of the different LEC processes that include local regulatory reports (changes, processes, etc.), UAT processes, invoicing, etc
  • Information request for external/internal auditors or regulator
  • Implementation of new initiatives, products and process automation
  • Other tasks requested by SCBM or LEC team
  • Include rates and counterparties in the system daily
  • Track regulatory reports prepared and submitted during month end
  • Track JIRA’s opened
  • Analyzes and participates in the implementation of regulatory changes

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Student from Accounting, Administration, Economics career or similar (since 9thcycle)
  • Proficiency in Spanish and English;
  • Part-time availability (30hs per week)
  • Availability to work in Lima, Peru
  • Proficient in MsExcel and/or MsAccess. Visual Basic knowledge is a plus
  • Knowledge in financial products (derivatives) is a plus
  • Experience with automatization tools / data management tools is a plus

Job Summary:

The position is based in Lima, Peru, with a reporting line to the ACAC SCBM.

Job responsibilities:

  • Drive the development, execution, and monitoring of an integrated country strategy in conjunction with the LOBs and functional areas, including reviewing strategic opportunities to enhance JP Morgan’s competitive position in the local market.
  • Design and manage the execution of strategic, competitive, and financial analyses (including country wallet reviews) in support of the businesses, including key growth initiatives, resource optimization, and expense controls.
  • Chair the location operating management team. Partner with regional function heads to assume “day-to-day” line management responsibility for local functions and be the escalation point for critical issues. Ensure proper escalation of relevant issues to location management committee and regional management.
  • Support stakeholders with planning, forecasting, quarterly business reviews, town halls, client analyses, and account planning support.
  • Understand the local competitive environment and review strategic opportunities to enhance J.P. Morgan’s competitive positioning in the market.
  • Build product knowledge and awareness of business and country developments and requirements.
  • Manage location budget for country people agenda initiatives, internal and external events, and sponsorships.
  • Drive real estate strategy for the franchise.
  • Act as a country representative in regional and business forums, including the NBIA process (“New Business Initiatives Approval process”).
  • Partner with regional business managers and the corporate strategy team to drive country-specific initiatives and growth areas.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Advanced analytical and research skills, critical strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities to propose and implement solutions
  • Confidence and ability to communicate clearly and present in front of senior audiences
  • Results-driven, with attention to detail, a passion for driving best practices, and skilled at diplomatically breaking down barriers and obstacles
  • Strong project management abilities, including the ability to juggle multiple deliverables simultaneously, with high-quality output

  • 10+ years of relevant Financial Services experience, ideally coupled with investment banking, consulting, or business management experience

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Previous experience and understanding of the operational and control environment of a country franchise would be a strong advantage.

  • Complete intraday / end-of-day processes including completeness and reconciliation checks to ensure capture of new trading activity and general book management has been processed accurately
  • Prepare and supervise regulatory reports to Peruvian regulators.

  • Produce MIS Reports.

  • Work closely with Operations functions and infrastructure groups to support a 'one team approach'
  • Ensure all controls are diligently performed, completed, and signed-off on a timely basis
  • Clear and concise communication with all support teams to ensure the timely and efficient resolution of queries
  • Participate and contribute to the various strategic initiatives; keep improving and evolving processes and business architecture
  • Build an in-depth understanding of all trading structures from both a financial and operational perspective

  • Intraday and forecasted cashflow for the Local Legal Entity.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • LBTR / CAVALI knowledge is desirable to perform day to day activities.
  • Understand all relevant fixed income and fx derivative products (Interest Rate Swaps, Cross Currency swaps, Foreign Exchange (FX), Zero Coupon and Overnight Index Swaps (OIS))
  • Knowledge of the front to back Operations process (including the key elements such as confirmations, settlements, regulatory reporting) and facilitate issue resolution across teams
  • Understand the key elements of other infrastructure groups (i.e. Finance, Market risk, Credit risk, Operational risk, Legal, Collateral etc.) and recognize the impact of the actions of the Trade support team on these areas
  • Must have clear communication skills and an ability to use these to work collaboratively, explain, and challenge, as appropriate
