As an Equity Derivatives Trade Support Associate within the Equity Derivatives Middle Office, you will be providing operational support to equity derivatives traders based in Hong Kong, specifically for the APAC Volatility trading business. Your responsibilities will include maintaining strict controls over daily trading activities and reconciliations. You will be part of a collaborative team that works closely with trading, sales, client servicing, business managers, product control, legal, compliance, settlement, and control teams.

Job responsibilities

  • Trade capture and booking equity derivatives e.g. Listed Futures and Options, Equity Swaps, ETFs, ADRs/GDRs, FX, Vanilla and Exotics OTC Products, Structures Notes, Warrants, Certificates including New Issuances, Increase / Unwinds and Corporate Action adjustment
  • Ensure all transactions are capture timely and accurately in the Risk Management Systems
  • Complete intraday / end-of-day processes including completeness and reconciliation checks to ensure capture of new trading activity and general book management has been processed accurately
  • Work closely with Operations functions and infrastructure groups to support a ‘one team approach
  • Have clear and concise communication with all support teams to ensure the timely and efficient resolution of queries
  • Ensure all controls are diligently performed, completed, and signed-off on a timely basis
  • Ensure regulatory obligations are fulfilled and participate to changes with regulation
  • Collaborate with Sales, trading and business management for any new business opportunities and help designing controls and process
  • Participate and contribute to the various strategic initiatives; keep improving and evolving processes and business architecture
  • Build an in-depth understanding of all trading structures from both a financial and operational perspective

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a middle office function supporting relevant role relating to Equity Derivatives
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office and the ability to pick up complex systems architecture easily
  • Strong Product knowledge on Equity Derivative Products, in particular – Equity Swaps, Options, Futures, ETFs
  • Knowledge of the front to back Operations process (including the key elements such as confirmations, settlements, regulatory reporting) and facilitate issue resolution across teams
  • Understand the key elements of other infrastructure groups (i.e. Finance, Market risk, Credit risk, Operational risk, Legal, Collateral etc.) and recognize the impact of the actions of the Trade support team on these areas
