What You’ll Be Doing:

• Complete all tool pre-setting accurately and on schedule
• Manage perishable tool inventory control, including inspection, logging, reporting, and offset tag changes
• Support supervisors, quality engineers, systems technicians, and production operators in tool set-up issue resolution
• Maintain organization and control of fixture wears and spares, including receiving and usage reporting
• Ensure compliance with Johnson Electric’s FPS Quality, Safety, and Environmental Systems
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager

What We’re Looking For:

• Technical degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
• Minimum 1 year of experience in CNC machining tool operation and set-up in a high-volume manufacturing environment, or equivalent internal certification training
• Certification in automotive systems and quality requirements (ISO/IATF 16949)
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels

Bonus Points If You Have:

• Advanced experience with CNC tooling and inventory systems

• Track and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)

What We’re Looking For:

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience inmechanical/manufacturingdisciplines
• 3–5 years of experience in high-speed manufacturing (automotive preferred)
• 2–3 years of experience withmanufacturing/machiningprocesses
• Familiarity with mechanical/hydraulic pressing
• Knowledge of ISO, QS, IATF standards and Lean Manufacturing
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills

• Powder Metallurgy Technologist (PMT) Certification Level 1

Description:

The Junior Engineering Specialist position is responsible for providing support to engineering activities and initiatives at JEC-Mississauga Plant 1 focusing on the development of new and existing product lines. The position requires creativity, flexibility and initiative to resolve recurrent issues through the application of resources combined with the gathering and analysis of available data.


Responsibilities

  • Active participation in the development and implementation of processes, part development and equipment selection / installation.

  • Prepare SPC (Statistical Process Control) reports for internal and external review using statistical software such as JMP.

  • Collect and organize production data to maintain and improve process and tool capability thru SPC.

  • Provide assistance in the recommendation of modifications to tooling, plant equipment and prototypes in development, to permit economical manufacturing; or to meet performance specifications and the requirements of serviceability.

  • Support and participate in production team meetings to review and resolve Quality, Service, Operations, Facilities, Human Resources and Health & Safety issues when required.

  • Be a technical resource and support to the human resources, processes, products and equipment employed within the area to which you may be assigned on a day-to-day basis.

  • Contribute towards meeting the goals of producing quality parts, on-time and at the lowest possible cost.

  • Assist in the development of Standardized work

  • Work in compliance with JEC Mississauga, Quality and HSE policies and procedures.

  • Communicate with the Production and other Departments on a regular basis to keep them well informed of the progress in technological advances made within the scope of this position.

  • Work in compliance with JEC Mississauga Quality and EHS Policies and Procedures, including IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 / ISO 14001.

  • All other duties as assigned

  • Third or Fourth Year Manufacturing Engineering Student

  • Accomplished problem solving skills.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Manage quality-related performance by understanding customer-specific quality requirements and effectively relaying information to operations through training and controlled process documentation.

  • Contain and disposition all internal non-conforming material by using information from quality-related documents and production staff to determine if the product meets requirements.

  • Maintain and develop supplier relations by clarifying requirements, initiating improvements, and monitoring performance.

  • Develop and analyze statistical data to monitor quality performance and reduce nonconforming occurrences.
  • Participate in the implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
  • Monitor part and defect-specific scrap levels at all processes and implement cost reduction actions.
  • Instruct inspectors and PA’s on proper job practices pertaining to gauge operation, inspection standards, corrective actions, etc.
  • Create and maintain IATF documents, including PPAP submission, development of PCP, FMEA, new product launch, and internal documentation, and all relevant APQP.
  • Assist with daily production issues, develop rework strategies, modify processes, establish acceptance criteria, etc.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities related to quality, productivity, engineering, IATF, etc.
  • Work in compliance with Stackpole PMDM Quality and EHS Policies and Procedures, including IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 / ISO 14001.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on experience with problem-solving tools.
  • Strong technical background coupled with a minimum three-year diploma in mechanical engineering or materials engineering or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with best practices in quality assurance, application of SPC, tool design, error-proofing techniques, IATF 16949, etc.
  • Hands-on, well-organized, possess good interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrated ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Five plus years of relevant experience.
  • Powder Metallurgy Technologist (PMT) Certification level 1 preferred; successful candidate will be required to obtain certification.
  • Ability to travel to customer locations in the U.S.A., Mexico, and Asia.
