As a Mechanic, you’ll join a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services – uninterrupted. Based in Canton, MI, you’ll have the opportunity to perform a variety of tasks in the preventive and corrective maintenance on water/wastewater treatment plants and related facilities equipment on an assigned shift. You’ll contribute to the success of our program with efficient preventive maintenance and effective solutions to challenges that may arise in municipal facilities. You’ll perform preventive and corrective maintenance on buildings, structures, grounds, machinery and equipment; lubricate equipment and check for malfunctions; replace packing in pumps or valves; replace bearings in motors, pumps, and other equipment; tune engines, set valve clearance, clean, and adjust regulators; examine equipment failures to identify cause and to prevent recurrences; and install and sets up new equipment. You’ll also clean and paint interior and exterior equipment and buildings; lean out pipes and perform other plumbing and pipe fitting tasks as required; use gas and/or arc welding equipment to heat, cut, braze, or weld; perform duties of painter in their absence; assist in keeping maintenance records; and perform other duties as required. If successful, you will be part of a wider team that also deals with Development Management and is the home to head of profession who are focussed on influencing the design of places which encourage active and sustainable travel.

This role focuses on supporting housing and infrastructure development from a transport planning perspective, with involvement in major strategic sites.

Responsibilities will include supporting planning applications, working at the information and pre-application stages, and acting in the capacity of the highway’s authority.

A key part of the role will be evaluating the suitability of development locations, negotiating with and managing multiple stakeholders, and ensuring responses are aligned with the county council’s objectives. This position will require strong relationship-building, negotiation skills, and awareness of the political environment.

If successful, your role as Planning Manager will be to develop expertise in highways and planning, and contribute to shaping plans that balance economic, environmental, and social sustainability in local Stevenage community.

Main responsibilities:

• Support the Local Plan and Strategic Development Team in leading the One Service approach to Place Making.
• Work closely with the Strategy and Programme Managers to develop programmes of work, manage the communications with Local Planning Authorities (LPAs) and external partners while supporting the Local Plan process.
• Support the development of master plans for strategic developments ensuring the Highways interests are represented at an early stage
• Contribute to the team, and the unit, in terms of researching and sharing best practice, developing new ideas and supporting the development of members of the team.

The Facility Maintenance Technician (Call Catcher) is the “first responder” to many reactive service calls at the Atlanta Airport. This position is responsible for assessing the situation, troubleshooting to find the root cause, and taking corrective actions to maintain the continuous operations of the equipment or system impacted. In addition to having well-rounded general maintenance skills, a good working knowledge of general electrical system repairs is desired. Examples of work responsibilities may include unstopping toilets and floor drains; investigating roof, pipe, and other leaks; installing bladders; resetting tripped circuit breakers; troubleshooting and repairing water fountains, replacing ceiling tiles, light ballasts, etc.

Essential Job Functions

• Works closely with client representatives and other trade technicians to address reactive maintenance issues, as well as other requests that arise during the shift.
• Attends daily safety trainings and follows all safety directives.
• Manages work orders assigned through INFOR Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS) by recording technician’s labor hours, materials used, and a description of work completed in a timely manner.
• Manages time and prioritizes work orders to ensure that client needs, and expectations are met.
• Performs quality repairs that extend the life of the facility.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Good computer, communication, and typing skills.
• Ability to work from lifts and ladders, as well as work in a variety of weather conditions.
• Ability to work adjusted schedules during extreme weather events. Weekend work is required with these two positions.

KEY COMPETENCY – Technical Skills

- In-depth knowledge and experience in using standard microscopic/ mesoscopic transport modelling packages and recognized transport appraisal techniques

- Advanced knowledge in VISSIM, demonstrable experience in Linsig/ SIDRA software, ability to produce clear, precise and coherent traffic analysis, and reports

- Experience with Aimsun, EMME, MapInfo, Cube is preferred

- Relevant transport modelling experience in other regions (APAC/UK/USA/ME).

- Capable of working under challenging workload subject to short notice.

- Clear communication
