As a key member of our team, you’ll join our collaborative process providing our clients with award-winning planning, engineering, architectural design, construction management, and design-build project delivery. You’ll be performing civil design calculations and, preparing site and utility layouts while conforming to design standards for a variety of Federal projects. You’ll have the opportunity to coordinate project assignments with other engineers and technicians in and out of your discipline group to review and recommend required changes to drawings supplied by contractors, clients, and other engineers. Responsibilities include:

• Perform non-routine and complex assignments from verbal instructions
• Work closely with design originator and Project Managers
• Flexible in work assignments and team assignments
• Research and implement regulatory requirements and design standards
• Review drawings for completeness
• Analyze sketches, notes and other input material to determine and plan the best approach to develop designs with minimal supervision
• Some travel may be required, including international

Job responsibilities in this role include:

• Responsible for the quality of project work performed, client service, utilization of staff, marketing, contract management, billing collection, and project profitability for transportation projects

• Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of transportation projects to ensure that goals and objectives of these projects are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters

• Establishes work plan, fee estimate and multi-disciplinary staffing for each phase of the project, and works with department managers regarding assignment of project personnel

• Subconsultant management

• Confirms roadway and highway design meets local (State, County or City) or AASHTO standards at both conceptual and final design levels.

• Maintains positive relationships with current and past clients as assigned

• Assists in the development and execution of local marketing and business development

• Researches and tracks future project opportunities

• Initiates and reviews proposals; Participates in interviews and presentations

• Occasional travel for project related tasks

As a Senior Fire Protection Engineer you will work alongside a robust staff of experienced and licensed Fire Protection Engineers to develop and use your skills and experience to deliver and complete challenging and engaging buildings projects across many different markets such as Commercial, Federal, Mission Critical, and Advanced Facilities projects in many different regions including but not limited to the United States, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

The Engineer will be directing the activities of design staff to produce drawings and calculations for fire sprinkler systems, special hazards suppression systems, fire pumps, fire alarm and mass notification, and building/life safety codes analysis.
