Your impact

A Facility Planner is responsible for conducting and documenting physical and functional facility analysis to assist our clients in better understanding their space needs, risks and opportunities within their current or projected facility portfolio. Work involves defining operational patterns and mission requirements and developing strategies to support the changing needs over time. A Facility Planner applies data research and interview techniques to gather and analyze data to predict future requirements.

Projects can range from small, medium, or larger-size master planning and facility planning efforts. Responsibilities will include supporting planning recommendations developed by the team, completing DD 1391 forms and background documentation, project validation, and corresponding documentation in compliance with all applicable Federal and DoD policies and criteria. Planning projects may also include Vision Plans, Area Development Plans and Installation Development Plans that require knowledge and application of applicable Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) for planning.

  • Planning knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge and some application of the philosophies and techniques of federal, urban, regional, military, and/or facilities planning.
  • Research skills: Demonstrated knowledge and some experience in research, data collection, and interviews.
  • Facilitation Skills: Desire to learn group facilitation skills or interview skills for use with client workshops and team charrette experience. Participate in client meetings and team charrettes.
  • Critical Thinking: Working to solve straightforward problems; analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures.
  • Client relations: Proven desire to develop client relationships.
  • Deliverable management: Support planning team with deliverable page layouts, various charts/figures, brochures, posters, slide shows, and provision of deliverables in a variety of media formats. Graphic design skills are preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Advanced English language skills, both written and verbal, to include technical writing/editing experience and a demonstrated ability to write, edit, and deliver planning content.

Projects could include, but not be limited to Project Development, Project Readiness Index (PRI) PRI#1 and PRI#2, Planning Charrette Report (PCR), Requirements Analysis and Planning Charrette packages. Planning projects may also include Vision Plans, Area Development Plans and Installation Development Plans that require knowledge and application of applicable Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) for planning.

  • Planning knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the application of the philosophies and techniques of federal, urban, regional, military, and/or facilities planning.
  • Research skills: Demonstrated knowledge and experience in research, data collection, and interviews.

Your impact

Jacobs Project Management Company is seeking Construction Project Engineer Professionals (Intermediate level) to work in Irvine, CA, and various unanticipated worksites in the US.

Responsibilities:

Work closely in a team environment to represent Owner and manage project progress. Interface with Client and ability to produce reports and presentations to communicate high-level information. Reviewing product data Submittals and shop drawings for conformance with contract documents and providing feedback to Client on progress. Reviewing Requests for Information by Construction team, and responding to those RFIs that are Owner-specific by reviewing conformance with contract documents. Reviewing change orders by Construction team to assess merit, and establish a negotiated dollar value within the constraints of the budget. Produce three-week lookahead schedules for construction progress in the field and maintain critical path of the project. Perform construction site visits on a daily basis to track construction progress, identify issues and concerns, and produce daily field reports with observations and pertinent photos. Capture meeting minutes to record agreements made on the project in weekly Owner meetings and in progress meetings with Construction team. Archive all approved pay applications, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and other key project correspondence and maintain project folders in order to prepare for a project audit as needed. Set up workflows and direct oversight of contractor and architect in a construction environment through field visits and associated field reports, field issue for transmittals between the construction team, design team, resolution through collaboration with architect and contractor Reviews pay applications by Contractor for merit and interfaces with Contractor accordingly. Oversees operational shutdowns and impacts with Owner and works directly with Facilities to review and finalize construction activity notices. Oversees Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing trades on project including ensuring design intent is constructed and meets code. Additionally, resolves MEP issues that arise between design team and Contractor. Also engages the Owner to achieve compliance with Owner standards and user change requests. Reviews and comments on submittals, shop drawings, Request for Information, change orders, and other pertinent contract documents.
