Your impact

In this role, you’ll lead select water accounts for municipal and state governments as well as private clients in Central Florida by collaborating and leading our delivery teams to sustain existing workload. You’ll also lead strategy development of transformational work, such as design-build and operational contracts. This position will be based out of a Jacobs’ Tampa, Florida, office.

Additional responsibilities include the following:

  • Serve as the point of contact for client service activities and develop strategies to grow Jacobs’ business across all water submarkets for various clients in Central Florida
  • Work with the Market Growth Director for Water to align Central Florida (Tampa) Water strategy within the broader Southeast portfolio.
  • Identify, charter, and lead client service teams comprised of client service leaders (CSLs) multi-disciplinary project managers and regional practice leaders around common vision of success
  • Facilitate creation of deep, personal, valuable client relationships between Jacob’s personnel and client personnel (management, technical, functional, delivery) to weave a fabric of broad-based relationships between our firm and the clients
  • Advocate on client's behalf by actively engaging the firm to address client needs and recommending strategic actions to optimize our business development investment and market share growth
  • Identify higher levels of client engagement for executive sponsors
  • Secure management commitment and influence/attract key staff for pursuits
  • Work with office/corporate leaders to develop strategies for key hiring on strategic pursuits, identifying key project pursuits, team growth, office growth, profitability, employee development, and employee satisfaction
  • Actively engage with project and Sales teams to influence pursuit team on sales process discipline, win strategy and proposal development, interviews, and presentations
  • Coordinate and facilitate the Sales process, including Go/No Go decisions, and help develop required sales costs aligned with opportunity potential and return on investment objectives
  • Demonstrated reputation as a leader in the Central Florida municipal market area

Reporting to the Navy Portfolio Sales Director, this Client Account Manager (CAM) position has the principal focus of participating in the refinement of our growth and sales strategy for our Department of Navy clientele, primarily the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) , and implementing the same. This business development position will serve our client’s requirements and missions, with an emphasis in environmental compliance, investigation, and remediation. The position may also require occasional engagement in the areas of facilities and infrastructure (professional services supporting the military construction (MILCON) and sustainment, restoration, and modernization (SR/M) programs) and civil works. Specific client assignment will depend on the candidate’s existing client base and relationships, areas of expertise, and/or location.

In this strategic role you will:

  • Represent Jacobs to the client in a positive, relationship-oriented, solutions-delivery approach by leveraging the depth and breadth of Jacobs’ capabilities.
  • Advocate on the client's behalf by actively engaging the firm to address client needs and recommend strategic actions to optimize our investment and market growth.
  • Facilitate creation of deep, personal, valuable client relationships between Jacobs personnel and client personnel (management, technical, functional, delivery) to facilitate positive working atmospheres, and to broaden the firm’s understanding of underlying client objectives at the appropriate levels.
  • Develop trust and credibility with clients by engaging in business discussions to understand key drivers to best align our solutions with client’s needs.
  • Identify and prioritize business opportunities that lead to consistent growth for the Firm.
  • Assess project and program requirements, while developing and recommending a sound approach to meet the needs of the project and client.
  • Actively engage with capture teams to influence sales process discipline, win strategy, and value proposition for proposal development, interviews, and presentations.
  • Coordinating with subcontractors and other teaming partners, identifying and engaging with new companies, and creating the best teams to improve client support and strengthen our commercial position.
  • Coordinate and facilitate Go/No Go decisions and help develop required sales costs aligned with opportunity potential and return on investment objectives.
  • Identify, coordinate, and lead capture teams and actively manage and shape proposal development for Federal contracts.
  • Lead the development of opportunity fee proposals and coordinate with discipline leadership for input.
  • Participate in negotiations with the client.
  • Secure management commitment and influence/attract key staff for pursuits.
  • Partner with Operations Teams to ensure successful execution and delivery to the client. This informal client feedback and working with delivery teams to ensure client requirements for work product, value, and SB goals are met and to create strong Trusted Advisor relationship.
  • Represent Jacobs at conferences, symposiums, seminars, and workshops to actively engage with the client.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the competition for this client market.
  • Identify higher levels of client engagement for executive sponsors.
  • Develop and deliver on client specific strategy, business plan and KPIs.

In this role, you will be a part of one of the largest water market delivery centers in the southern United States. You will lead the water and wastewater facility designs for conventional and design-build projects ranging from $1M to over $250M in construction and support diverse projects around the region. With a strong backlog in both water treatment and wastewater treatment projects, there are unlimited opportunities to focus on the technologies and growth that you desire. While being in Gainesville is preferred in order to support mentoring and career opportunities for our design teams and enhance coordination and efficiency on our projects, a hybrid remote arrangement is feasible depending on experience in the market and demonstrated ability to successfully work as part of distributed teams.

As aWater/Wastewater Design Engineer, you will work with a core group of water/wastewater engineers and designers on water and wastewater treatment designs and construction services support to deliver innovative solutions to challenging technical problems that our clients face. You will work collaboratively with our team to complete the following:

  • Evaluation and selection of process equipment, pumping systems, pipe materials, and valves
  • Development of facility layouts and process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Development of construction documents, including drawings and specifications
  • Data analysis and hydraulic modeling
  • Technical report writing
