Jacobs is looking for an on-call archaeologist to work on a variety of projects throughout Colorado and/or Wyoming. This position involves providing cultural resources support for planning, engineering, and construction services to renewable energy, government, military, transportation, and commercial clients. The archaeologist career path provides the opportunity to work on projects that require compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), Archaeological Resources Protection Act (ARPA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Native American Graves Repatriation and Protection Act (NAGPRA), and state regulations. All work will be conducted under the guidance of senior cultural resources staff.

The ideal candidate will have a B.A. in anthropology with experience working in Colorado and Wyoming, experience in conducting archaeological surveys and construction monitoring, including mapping, data recording, site documentation, and photography, and conducting archaeological monitoring. Other qualifications include excellent writing and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, and technological proficiency that includes some experience working with GIS and relational databases.

Jacobs is looking for a Principal Investigator to work on a variety of projects throughout the United States.

This position involves providing desktop and field-based cultural resources support for planning, engineering, and construction services to

government, military, and commercial clients. The archaeologist career path provides the opportunity to work on projects that require compliance

with the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), Archaeological Resources Protection Act (ARPA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA),

Native American Graves Repatriation and Protection Act (NAGPRA), and other federal, state, and local cultural resource regulations.

Based out of the Front Range of Colorado, you’ll serve as a key team member working with scientists, engineers, project managers, and other project staff across business sectors and practices in the company; interface with clients; and coordinate consultation with State Historic Preservation Officers, the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, Native American tribes, and multiple state and federal agencies. You’ll conduct coordinate, oversee, and conduct archaeological fieldwork, including Phases I-III studies and archaeological monitoring; analyze project impacts as part of Section 106 and other regulations; analyze and interpret data; write and review cultural resources technical reports; develop archaeological treatment plans and agreement documents; and evaluate eligibility of resources for listing in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) and state registers. You will also prepare proposals, provide technical reviews of deliverables, provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level employees, and serve as a mentor within the cultural resources group.
