Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize data architectures that support AI and Machine Learning workflows

We’re seeking mid-level design engineers with experience in sediment remediation design for federal and global private sector clients.

Based anywhere in the United States (preference towards the West or Midwest), you’ll work with other scientists, engineers, subject matter experts, and project managers on exciting projects nationwide. You’ll apply your technical experience in design related to sediment environmental remediation with the support of our global remediation technology team. Your analytical skills will be called upon as you evaluate site conditions, determine data needs, assess remedial alternatives, perform engineering calculations, and develop designs. You’ll use your technical writing skills to prepare work plans, reports, and design documents, including design specifications. You’ll learn from other experienced staff who are ready to mentor you, and you’ll pass your knowledge on to others. As a mid-level Engineer, you’ll be directed by Design Managers and discipline leads, but you will be called on to take ownership of assigned tasks. Most of your work will be office-based, but you may spend some time in the field supporting or overseeing the gathering of design data. The employee will work alongside our local team and support senior level engineers and project managers to perform the following tasks:

• Assist senior and mid-level engineers on larger, complex projects, including task management.
• Participate in and lead tasks.
• Perform a wide variety of routine assignments which are clearly defined and require the application of standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Independently evaluate the selection and/or modification of standard techniques, procedures, criteria, and systems to efficiently meet project goals.
• Prepare planning documents, reports, studies, and calculations.
• Prepare models, engineering specifications, data sheets, sketches, drawings and perform calculations in support of engineering activities.
• Possess a positive attitude, are dependable and meet assigned project deadlines.
• Effectively work with project teams with diverse technical skill sets and geographic locations.
• Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and work in a fast-paced consulting environment.
• Collaborate on and contribute to maintaining and building strong client relationships.
• Work with project managers and clients to understand needs and be able to come up with digital solutions to fill those needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leverage automation software and programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL, R, Spark to help streamline digital solutions
• Prioritize data governance and data management best practices
• Work with GIS teams and Power BI groups to help find new ways to deliver integrated solutions more effectively
• Ability to create GIS and Power BI exhibits and support respective teams
• Support our internal digital team in project support and solution scalability
• Work with project managers and clients to understand needs and be able to come up with digital solutions to fill those needs
• Works with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions
