As an
Area Health & Safety (H&S) Manager,you will be a key member of our collaborative Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) West Region team, supporting projects and offices within the Buildings & Infrastructure Business Group. Reporting to the Northwest Geography HSE Manager, your primary responsibilities will be within Northwest (Hawaii, Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, & North Dakota), though you will also be expected to support broader regional efforts as needed. You will oversee H&S initiatives and governance for offices and projects across various market sectors including water, transportation, healthcare, education and aviation while driving strategic efforts within the West Region HSE Team.

Responsibilities

Demonstrating visible Health & Safety leadership by:

• Establishing strong working relationships with your operations partners.

• Working closely with project managers and operations teams to integrate H&S practices into business objectives.

• Providing technical reviews of project and office H&S planning documentation to ensure conformance with internal procedures and compliance with applicable regulations.

• Staying updated on Federal OSHA regulatory requirements.

• Providing governance oversight to ensure alignment and consistent implementation of project and office H&S requirements.

• Conducting periodic site audits, risk assessments, and inspections to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.

• Writing reports and communications to disseminate H&S guidance and best practices.

• Leading investigations into workplace incidents, documenting findings, and recommending preventive measures to minimize future occurrences.

• Developing and delivering H&S training.

• Assisting in the development of emergency response plans and drills to ensure teams are prepared for potential workplace emergencies.

• Performing subcontractor H&S prequalification reviews to ensure alignment with company safety standards.

• Presenting H&S information in operational meetings, office town halls, and project pre-mobilization meetings.

• Proactively identifying and raising health, safety, security and environmental observations while promoting engagement in the BeyondZero observation reporting process, fostering a culture of caring.

• Utilizing safety data and metrics to drive improvements in H&S performance across your area of responsibility.

• Implementing and continuously improving H&S programs and practices.

Working with other members of our local and regional team, you’ll perform design engineering, project design staff oversight, quality control, client development, proposal preparation and sales pursuits for challenging projects related to fish passage, stream restoration, stormwater management, drainage, hydropower, and water conveyance and storage and throughout the Northwest. You will be leading a multi-disciplinary design team and working directly with our clients to complete tasks within established schedules and budgets and help advance our business development strategies.

We are looking for a driven and curious client-focused, part time Senior Water Resource Consultant in our Boise, ID office to support our water resources teams as key advisor. As a key member of our team, you’ll have the chance to work on challenging projects as a senior specialist for projects – planning and executing work with high degrees of technical complexity. You will be coordinating between multiple projects ensure tasks are performed without a hitch.

In addition to leading project planning and design, you will be a critical member of the Boise Water Leadership team. You’ll work closely with other Department and Group Leaders and Client Account Managers to provide guidance and leadership within the Water Group. You’ll be called upon to use your inspirational leadership skills to provide mentoring and coaching to Water Resources Group staff aligned to you, including development of annual priorities, career goals, and performance reviews.  Typical activities may also include identifying potential project pursuits, preparing qualifications and proposals, and hiring, supervising, and supporting staff. You will have the opportunity to help grow our business and also grow our local and regional teams.

As a Senior Water Resources Engineer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of exciting and engaging infrastructure studies and projects including some of the region’s leading large-scale projects and programs for local agencies and municipalities and federal entities. Work may include planning and design from concept level to final construction documents including writing and assembling feasibility studies and hydraulic reports. Candidates with a wide variety of design and task leadership experience as well as business development and people management would be viewed favorably. Typical project activities may include performing hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, producing feasibility reports, providing detailed calculations, producing construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates, and delegating similar tasks to early career staff. Hydrology and hydraulic models used for typical projects include HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS 1D/2D, HEC-ResSim, SRH-2D, and others required to meet Federal, State and local agency requirements.

Based in West Chicago, IL, you’ll have the opportunity to perform a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant including maintenance of equipment and quality control testing. You’ll contribute to the success of our program with efficient preventive maintenance and effective solutions to challenges that may arise in municipal facilities. You’ll operate treatment facilities to control flow and processing of water/wastewater, sludge, and effluent, observe variations in operating conditions, and interpret meter and gauge readings. You’ll also collect samples, maintain shift logs and perform other duties as required. Most importantly, you’ll take action to ensure the safety, health and well-being of you and your team.

As a Water Resources Engineer associated with our Boise, ID office, you’ll work with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver planning, design, and implementation phases of projects completed for municipal, private, state, Tribal, irrigation district, and Federal clients. Working with other members of our local and regional team, you’ll contribute to a variety of water resources, environmental, transportation, and site civil projects and programs and you'll collaborate on studies, designs, and field assignments for hydraulic/hydrologic modeling, fish passage, stream restoration, stormwater management, drainage, hydropower, and water conveyance and storage.
