Essential Job Functions

  • Troubleshoot and repair building automation systems, networks, and components under minimal supervision.
  • Perform point-to-point checkout commissioning and system diagnostics from system level controllers to end devices.
  • Monitor the BAS from network to devices for consistent performance and identify trends that may indicate performance issues and react by resolving issues before they produce discomfort for the client and their customers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to perform high level BAS software and hardware troubleshooting on complex HVAC systems and subsystems including network and controllers.
  • Possess familiarity with BAS systems such as Metasys, Siemens, Honeywell, Tritium, Niagara, etc.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair complex control system malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of a variety of BAS network protocols, software, sequence of operations and DDC ladder logic.
  • Ability to create graphics in BAS.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of N2 and BACnet protocols is desired.
  • Good computer, communication, and typing skills
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic abilities.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Self-starter with ability to work with little supervision.
Onsite employees are expected to attend a Jacobs Workplace on a full-time basis, as required by the nature of their role.

The Construction Inspector is responsible for full-time, site-based surveillance and focused inspection of work on one or more significant water or wastewater infrastructure projects. These individual monitors and documents construction work in progress, verifies conformance with construction drawings and specifications, and provides general coordination with various project stakeholders at the field level. The projects having varying locations throughout the Bay Area and Northern California. The individual will be required to work at the project location daily.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Monitor and document construction activity, equipment and manpower.
  • Interpret construction documents, codes and technical submissions to verify conformance with contract and regulatory requirements.
  • Verify conformance of materials and equipment with approved shop drawings/submittals.
  • Coordinate construction interfaces with security and building operations daily.
  • Assist the CM/RE/ARE in the documentation and resolution of field issues.
  • Maintain awareness of clarifications and changes affecting work in progress
  • Coordinate and oversee specialized testing and inspections.
  • Prepare daily construction reports and maintain accurate records of tests and inspections.
  • Monitor work performance and document variations from established schedules.
  • Assist in the evaluation of change order proposals.
  • Assist Office Engineer, as needed, in evaluating contractor payment requisitions.
  • Monitor contractor work practices for conformance with site safety requirements.
Onsite employees are expected to attend a Jacobs Workplace on a full-time basis, as required by the nature of their role.

  • Develop intuitive and informative dashboards using Excel Macro level, Databases (MS Access, SQL), XML, and Power BI.
  • Coordinate and execute project issues, with a focus on CPM Scheduling using Primavera P6 and cost engineering functions.
