The Infrastructure Sector includes a portfolio of high-profile projects that include international, national, and regional clients, contractors and various Local Authorities. Jacobs Highways team provides comprehensive consultancy and engineering services to the highways sector, covering the full spectrum of highway infrastructure requirements, from business case and project development, preliminary appraisal, and feasibility studies through to detailed design, implementation, operational management advice and operations and maintenance.

As a Lead Highways Design Engineer, you will be responsible for independently leading the design team and deliverables on assigned Jacobs’ roads, highways, and related civil infrastructure development project. You will be client-facing, offer support to the engineering team to develop suitable engineering options and solutions and provide leadership and mentorship to the team of designers on a different scale of projects. You will also assist with commercial, project management, engineering and design technical leaders to create opportunities for Jacobs to plan, develop, deliver and operate a range of projects and manage Jacobs risk on proposals and projects by undertaking engineering roles. You will also provide technical expertise across the civil/roads projects and includes involvement in the development of proposals.

In addition, your duties will be to:

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, technicians and apprentices within your own discipline working on a variety of projects.
• Responsible for the preparation of feasibility studies, technical reports, detailed designs, and production of contract documents across a variety of projects.
• Help seek innovative solutions in achieving the best value in delivering our services.
• Help development of the team through the delivery of projects and commissions, providing technical and administrative support and leadership where required.
• Drive continual improvement of our deliverables by using digital delivery tools, Lessons Learned from other projects and Clients’ feedbacks.
• Responsible for the coordinated technical delivery, reporting and associated governance of the projects.
• Implement improvement measures and share good practice as applicable.
• Assist with the technical development of more junior staff.
• Actively engage in business development at Jacobs.
• Help to maintain a highly motivated team with specific attention to safety and well-being.

Our aviation team in the Middle East is experiencing exciting growth and we have a need for a strong Senior Aviation Planner to support regionally in the pursuit and management of airport and landside related design projects. In addition, your duties will be as followed:

• Lead the development and implementation of airport master plans and layout plans.

• Reviewing the airport master plan and working with the client to ensure the document supports the short term and long-range aviation requirements.
• Conduct aviation system planning studies and analyses
• Participating in the review of project definition documents for the Terminal Area, Airside, Landside packages.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for aviation projects.
• Develop and implement comprehensive aviation plans and strategies.
• Maintain the airport master plan requirements, reviewing design submittals as part of the design review efforts.
• Engage in reviewing proposed design and master plan changes to assess the impacts of the changes.
• Support business strategy development and preparation of marketing plans.
• Review work produced by those assigned to ensure that all applicable policies, procedures, and regulations are followed, that current techniques are utilized, and that quality is acceptable.

In this role, you will report to the Senior Commercial Manager (KSIA Contracts).

Responsibilities:

• Coordination of the end-to-end change management process of each individual contract (managed by each individual project commercial team), ensuring that the Change Management Process is correctly and consistently implemented across the entire project.
• Ensure that changes and issues are identified and recorded so that the full impact of the change is recognised, evaluated and issued for approval by the internal Change Committee.
• Coordination between the various disciplines to ensure an accurate level of detail has been provided to be able to finalise the Change Request proposals.
• Validation of Sub-Consultants proposals / level of effort utilised in the Change Request proposals.
• Setup and administer internal governance reviews with the leadership team associated with that Change Request.
• Once issued, you will ensure that the approval, rejection, or other actions are recorded and distributed to the relevant contracts/projects within the project for implementation.
• In cases where changes have multiple contract/project implication compile data from across the project.
• Compile, update and manage change management logs and reports.
• Provide support to project commercial staff as required.
• Consider improved methods of managing change and programme KPIs.
• Present monthly reports to the project leadership.
• Interrogate Change Management Data at Contract and project levels.

Job Requirements:

• Key tasks to learn and perform the wider airports design aspects (ie master-planning, Airfield Geometry, Landside, Terminal and Civil Engineering pavement).
• Key tasks include the Airfield engineering for the delivery of Airfield packages.
• Preparing technical calculations, software applications, reports and schedule under the guidance of the team lead.
• Learn to deliver the projects and/or tasks to budget & schedule. Assist in the development of technical approaches and proposals.
• Carry out all necessary design and interface management activities to ensure correct integration between the design and construction packages and to avoid any gaps, misalignment, or buildability issues.
• Coordinate with wider design and project management office on seamless integration of package delivery.
• Manage design inputs and requests for information (RFI).
• Provide supports to planning and scheduling, change management, stakeholder management, procurement/subcon management, project control related to Airfield delivery.
• Attend and participate in key technical/ progress meetings as required.
• Work collaboratively with our Airport team, Sub-consultants, Geotechnical, mechanical /electrical and Utility engineers, Stakeholders, Authorities and Service Providers.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate confidently and effectively with colleagues and clients.
• Proficiency in Local, International codes and standards.
• BIM / CAD and Software Knowledge
