You’ll be based in Dublin or the surrounding area, with the flexibility to work from home and the expectation to be in the office or on client sites at least two days per week.

As Senior or Principal Drainage Engineer, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Drainage Discipline Lead in delivering drainage design services across all stages of project development. You’ll work closely with colleagues in Ireland, the UK, and globally to ensure technical excellence and seamless coordination. You’ll also help develop junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of our drainage capability.

As a Design Manager within our Transportation business, you will undertake a key role in delivering our clients’ requirements. Working closely with the Project Manager you will be the controlling mind over the engineering and technical delivery across all aspects. In delivery you should understand your clients’ requirements and the impacts of the success factors of the project, developing a schedule and delivery plan to ensure success. You’ll provide a proactive risk identification and mitigation environment that allows for innovation and creative delivery. You’ll have a track record of successfully delivering complex multi-disciplinary projects within budget and on schedule, whilst maintaining the highest of safe working cultures within project teams.

Together with the Project Manager you’ll control budgets for projects, escalation points, key milestones and targets including time, cost, quality and safety to ensure that objectives are achieved in line with programme plans.

Jacobs are looking for a Design Managers who will technically lead and manage the provision of consultancy services to major clients in the Transportation sector delivering a range of multi-disciplinary projects in Ireland, Europe and across the globe. Design Managers are accountable for all aspects of the day-to-day engineering and technical delivery of work on specific projects. They support the technical interface between the Project and the engineering and technical disciplines, providing direction, guidance, and support as required. The DM is responsible for delivering a safe design, ensuring the scope is well-defined, and that there is a clear understanding of the project schedule and the budget for each activity to be carried out by each discipline. Ensures that individual design disciplines are functioning as an integrated team and that the technical output is fully coordinated.

You will be joining the Aviation, Rail and Technology Group within our Electrical & Lighting Design Team. With teams across the UK this role would be based in our Birmingham, London, Manchester, or Leeds offices, whilst offering flexible working.

In this role, you will be responsible for the following key duties:

• Technical lead on electrical & lighting projects; responsible for the preparation of lighting and electrical designs at feasibility, optioneering, planning and detailed design stages;
• Programme and cost monitoring;
• Preparation of technical reports, feasibility studies, designs, specifications and contract documents;
• Conducting detailed daytime and night-time surveys;
• Supporting the production of Environmental Impact Assessment reports, Economic Assessment reports and Business Cases;
• Liaison with clients, electricity suppliers, contractors, professional organisations, sub-consultants and other design teams.
