Design Manager - Highways jobs at Jacobs in India, Hyderabad

Job Requirement:

• Familiar with working to design national and international codes and industry standards appropriate for Water and Wastewater industry.
• Experience of working on Middle East projects is a preferred.
• Design and Detail Engineering of Industrial Water Piping Systems with exposure to various codes and standards like IS, AWWA, IWWA, ASME, ANSI, BS, HIS, CPHEEO Manual, ISO, DIN etc.
• Preparation and Checking of Piping Layouts and utility systems for Water Treatment Plants (WTP) comprising of Primary Treatment System, Secondary Treatment System and Tertiary Treatment System which includes UF, MF, RO etc.
• Design, preparation and checking of piping layout for water plant projects / desalination / ETP projects with expertise knowledge on piping design of RO-DM package / ZLD package / CPU area package systems/Skid & frontal piping. Design, preparation and checking of Mechanical GA of Chemical House, UF-RO building, centrifuge building, RCC & structural tank, Pressure Vessel.
• Mechanical design of Pumping stations like Raw water Intake systems, Clear water Pumphouse in WTP, Wastewater and Treater water Pumping station for STP as per CPHEEO Guideline / Hydraulic Institute(ANSI std.).
• A sound understanding of mechanical engineering principles and their application in Water, Wastewater treatment plant processes and pumping stations.
• Experience in the production of design documentations including optioneering reports and specifications of mechanical equipment.
• Experience in producing design calculations of mechanical equipment for Water and Wastewater treatment plants.
• Ability to produce hydraulic calculations for mechanical equipment, equipment datasheets/specifications and schedules.
• Pipe sizing calculations, pump sizing calculations, wet well/reservoir sizing calculations.
• General Arrangement drawings for piping and mechanical equipment. Isometric drawings. P&IDs, PFDs etc.
• Software- AutoCAD working knowledge is essential and AutoCAD, Revit/ Plant 3D would be an added advantage. Should have working knowledge of 3D Models etc. such as Navis works.
• Should have experience on Plant Hydraulics (Software’s like Fathom, Water Gems and Surge Software’s like Water Hammer, SAP etc.
• Should have Good Communication Skills & should be proficient in English language.

• Prepare Technical Reports and contractual documents of acceptable technical and presentational quality with minimum guidance.
• Apply new ideas/digital idea to improve solutions and processes to improve efficiency.
• Receive on the job technical training through performing tasks with minimum supervision.
• Good knowledge of work procedures and ensure work adheres to procedures.
• Responsible for completion of specifically assigned tasks to time and cost.
• Able to work as reliable and pro-active member of the team, able to apply knowledge gained.
• Able to work on several projects, and to communicate clearly with a range of people, including making presentations. Flexible and enthusiastic; team player.
• Conversant with MS Office tools.
• Supporting and mentoring, with the possibility of formal line management responsibilities.
• Working within the company's quality-assured delivery processes and delivering output to the required level of quality.

Engineer Highways

• Highway engineerto work on multi-disciplinary engineering projects. The work will include undertaking design of highway infrastructure projects. This is a growth position for the right candidate looking to make the next step in their career.
• He/ she will be responsible for quality design delivery. Good understanding of teamwork and highways business area. Exhibits clear progression towards a technical career path.
• Should have minimum 3 years of proven experience in core highway design, including experience in managing small design teams.
• Should have a good understanding of highway design principles and practices.
• Should have Bentley Open Roads Designer as primary software skillset (at least 2 years of working experience on this software).
• Should be familiar with 3D modeling of roads/highways, Grading works, Plan production, Corridor modeling, Surface Analysis, Workspace & Worksets works - Using Open Roads Designer.
• US and Canada or ANZ project work experience would be an added advantage.
• Should be preferably familiar with Global Design Center working culture.
