We are looking for an enthusiastic,
Transportation Functional Designerwho thriveson providing innovative mobility solutions. You’ll be working on exciting and engaging transportation projects for our public sector clients across Canada. You’ll be working in a hybrid arrangement from home and from one of our offices (Burnaby, Toronto, Ottawa or Calgary), with the expectation of occasional travel for client meetings and team meetings.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Lead/contribute to transportation/transit conceptual and functional design projects including project scoping
• Coordinate with local authorities, transit agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure project alignment and support.
• Generate alternative design options, and provide technical assessment of option costs and benefits
• Facilitate discussions with agency stakeholders on design tradeoffs for multimodal users
• Develop sketch-level concepts and direct the work of CAD designers
• Provide QA/QC in accordance with municipal/ regional/ provincial/ federal guidelines and standards
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities, challenges, and risks for clients
• Represent Jacobs at industry events (conferences, webinars, etc.)
• Client relationship building and maintenance. Positioning Jacobs through early game and end game proposal development to secure new work.

You’ll be working in a hybrid arrangement from home and from one of our offices (Burnaby, Toronto, Ottawa or Calgary), with the expectation of occasional travel for client meetings and team meetings.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Lead/contribute to transportation/transit planning projects including project scoping
• Coordinate with local authorities, transit agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure project alignment and support.
• Prepare materials to support public/stakeholder engagement and participate in outreach activities to gather input and build consensus on solutions
• QA/QC in accordance with municipal/ regional/ provincial/ federal guidelines and standards
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities, challenges, and risks for clients
• Represent Jacobs at industry events (conferences, webinars, etc.)
• Client relationship building and maintenance. Positioning Jacobs through early game and end game proposal development to secure new work.

Working with a team of highly motivated engineers and project managers, you’ll champion the delivery of high-quality projects that meet or exceed client expectations and deliver planned profits. You’ll also be a strong safety proponent /leader for our safety policies and our culture of caring.

You’ll develop execution plans for projects, including scope, fee, schedule, quality, health and safety, risk management, and change management plans; you’ll negotiate and manage sub-agreements, track, control and report on project performance, ensure of timely invoicing and cash collection, while also providing technical guidance for deliverables and developing, mentoring and empowering the project team.

With your unflinching focus on our clients’ satisfaction, you’ll maintain regular and effective communication with clients. You’ll actively support the Business Development Manager and Client Service Managers in developing and expanding opportunities with existing and new clients. You’ll have the opportunity to provide input into growth and delivery strategy within the geography.
