You bring extensive experience designing major water infrastructure projects including large diameter or reticulation pipelines, treatment plants and pump stations. You balance technical innovation with practical implementation, ensuring designs are both excellent and buildable whilst maintaining commercial awareness throughout project delivery.

this summer. In this role, you will work as part of a Project Team, assisting other engineers to complete the design for electrical assets for sewer, water and treatment plant infrastructure. You will collect a broad range of experience, through involvement in different stages of a project lifecycle from options assessment, concept design, functional design, detailed design through to construction and the operations and maintenance phase. Tasks include performing design calculations, preparing and reviewing engineering drawings, material take-offs, attending meetings and attending site visits. You'll work alongside our Senior Consultants providing meaningful input on across our Water Infrastructure team – and we’ll mentor you each step of the way to ensure you’re set up for success.

Your impact

As a Transport Planner, you will be competent in microscopic/mesoscopic transport modelling and junction modelling packages. You will be responsible for quality project delivery, with a good understanding of the transport planning GDC business area. You should be a team player as well as a task manager, exhibiting clear progression towards a technical career path. Ensure clean delivery with close coordination with the lead office project manager, delivery team, and project reviewer.

Responsibilities

Serve as an expert within the transport planning

Solve complex transport problems; take a broad perspective to identify different solutions; guide others in resolving complex issues in specialized areas based on existing solutions and procedures.

Work independently, with guidance from SME/technical lead in only the most complex situations.

In this role you'll work provide assistance on key water infrastructure projects and further developing your understanding of civil engineering principles. You'll gain hands-on exposure to meaningful projects ranging from renewals packages for water infrastructure, to wastewater treatment plant upgrades, and up to large sewer tunnels and pump stations. You'll work alongside our Senior Consultants providing meaningful input on across our Water Infrastructure team – and we’ll mentor you each step of the way to ensure you’re set up for success.

Senior Wastewater Modellerin our Water Infrastructure team, you'll be at the intersection of analytical thinking, environmental engineering, client consultation and crafting solutions to real-world challenges.

This isn't just about building models - it's about building understanding. You'll transform raw client data into sophisticated hydraulic network models that reflect real world conditions and reveal insights about asset performance. When your models reveal discrepancies between theoretical function and actual operation, you'll engage directly with clients to investigate the "why" behind these differences, offering potential solutions and identifying the risks to their business.

Your work directly impacts critical decision-making by:

• Forecasting potential wastewater system shortfalls before they become problems
• Identifying strategic locations for infrastructure upgrades, including approximate costs and implementation staging of these.
• Determining optimal sizing for pipes, pumps and holding tanks
• Recommending operational changes to optimise existing asset efficiency
• Projecting long-term performance scenarios under various conditions or climatic variations
