Job Purpose

As a Senior Manager with the Simplifile team, you will apply your experience in Enterprise Software Development to lead and manage a fast-paced software development team. As a member of this team, you will utilize your knowledge of software development methodologies, best practices, problem solving and industry experience to work with the team in the design, development, maintenance and support of Simplifile’s products and necessary supporting tools. You will collaborate with members of multiple teams to support the full life cycle of engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow both front and back-end engineers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
• Responsible for directing staff on all phases of the project life cycle including implementation, programming, testing, and maintaining software systems.
• Coach staff towards career goals and monitor performance.
• Plan technical roadmaps that align with the broader organization and direct their execution with reasonable task assignments.
• Support the creation and implementation of departmental strategies.
• Build high-quality, innovative, and fully performing software that complies with coding standards and technical designs.
• Hire, evaluate and promote engineers to build a strong team.
• Participate in discovery processes collaborating with key stakeholders to identify business requirements and expected outcomes.
• Collaborate with QA team to ensure quality production code.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to align development timelines, resource allocation and deliverables with project goals.
• Design, implement, and support process improvements to guide development activities.
• Design and build scalable services and applications optimized for customer experience.
• Work with the product organization to identify scope of work and feasible timelines, prioritize work, and allocate available resources.
• Solve complex problems in development and provide solutions based on technical standards, practices and existing precedents or procedures.
• Work effectively with members of the team, as well as other teams, vendors, and customers.
• Frequent interaction with team and management to resolve issues or inquiries related to development, improving processes and procedures where possible.
• Provide engineering level production support for the Simplifile application.

Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
• 10+ years’ experience with relevant software stack and processes.
• 3+ years managerial experience
• Mortgage domain experience preferred
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD, design reviews, code reviews, TDD, unit testing, monitoring, alerting, and agile development practices.
• Experience with both front and back-end technologies, such as Java, Spring, MySQL, Angular, React, Node.js, JSON, XML, XSL, etc.
• Beneficial experience: MongoDB, Elasticsearch, TestNG.
• Deep understanding of industry standards and best practices for sophisticated platforms and services.
• Proven success in designing robust and scalable production systems.
• Experience with security protocols and security best practices.
• Detail oriented with good organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Deep knowledge and understanding of scrum/agile development methodologies.
• Ability to work and be a leader in a collaborative team environment.
• Able to communicate and navigate effectively with internal and external customers to resolve technical issues and collaborate on new projects and integrations.

Responsibilities

• Actively manage the entire product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
• Contribute to the company vision by conducting market and industry research
• Provide thorough analysis and recommend course of action for specific customer requests
• Assist in building a roadmap of incremental improvements based on the agreed upon vision
• Create detailed documentation to define feature requirements and maintain product quality
• Work with the development team in managing backlog priorities to align to overall vision, help remove roadblocks, and manage scope to get features released on time
• Participate in product focused release testing to support the highest quality user experience
• Provide transparency to all by helping publish release updates
• Evaluate market competition by reviewing the product capabilities of our competitors
• Develop innovative ideas to drive new customer growth and retain existing customers

Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience
• 4+ years of enterprise software application product management experience
• A proven track-record of gathering requirements, writing user stories, and producing wireframes and other artifacts to communicate the vision for your product to customers, stakeholders, and developers
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to daily tactical execution, ensuring seamless coordination and timely delivery of product milestones
• Experience with accounting systems, application integrations, and general accounting processes (AR, AP, GL, etc.)
• Deep understanding of the mortgage industry experience
• Experience with an agile software development life cycle methodology
• Knowledge of software product management concepts

Responsibilities

• Drive resolution of complex production issues, including escalation management, system testing, facilitation of strategy sessions, and transfer of knowledge.
• Acquire and grow knowledge of existing and new ICE products and solutions to provide assistance, guidance, and knowledge to clients.
• Act as an advisor for ICE Mortgage Technology products and services including APIs.
• Assist and guide clients in their transformative journey adopting the latest products and solutions.
• Participate in projects that enhance the quality and efficiency of the Premier Services team.
• Gather metrics and work with clients to baseline and demonstrate the value of the ICE Mortgage Technology platform.
• Oversee client service requests while acting as escalation manager when necessary.
• Partner with Service Operations team to develop successful strategies and execution of plans to ensure and improve technical performance of ICE Mortgage Technology services.
• Ensure client contacts are informed of new product features and help guide the client’s implementation roadmap.
• Advise on ways to achieve optimal utilization.
• Gather and supply product feedback as a client advocate to help drive the product roadmap.
• Develop relationships across ICE client-engagement teams, brands, and departments to strengthen partnership with clients.
• Advise client on best practices and industry benchmarking.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior members of the Premier Services team.
• Help define processes and procedures to better service ICE Mortgage Technology’s Premier Services clients.

Knowledge and Experience

• 5+ years hands on direct experience working in the mortgage industry
• 5+ years' experience in an Admin role administrating loan origination software
• 8+ years direct experience supporting and/or providing technical advisory/account management services preferably in a software management, information technology or mortgage industry role.
• Experience with cloud-based/SaaS solution offerings.
• Demonstrated experience working at executive level in client environments.
• Proven ability to develop and cultivate lasting client relationships with a diverse set of internal and external constituents including senior level executives, legal, technical, finance, support, sales, and marketing experts.
• Skillset required in data analytics.
• Excellent organization, project management, time management, and communication skills.
• Willingness to assist wherever needed; team player who will work within the company to continue improving the way ICE Mortgage Technology serves its clients.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, or related field.
• Previous working knowledge of ICE Mortgage Technology’s Encompass product and Mortgage Industry experience a plus.
• Recommended knowledge of: Encompass; Encompass SDK; Python; Java; Microsoft .NET framework; Amazon Web Services; Microsoft Azure; SaaS infrastructure and web-based application architecture; TCP/IP network layer; Microsoft IIS; Microsoft SQL; NoSQL Database; App Dynamics; REST API; web services.
