Job Purpose

The New York Stock Exchange (an Intercontinental Exchange company) is seeking a data scientist to serve as an expert member of NYSE Regulation (“NYSER”). The individual who fills this role will work closely with the other members of the NYSER data scientist team. The primary responsibilities of the individual in this position will be to:

1. implement a comprehensive approach to the use and maintenance of data, technology, artificial intelligence (“AI”), specifically focusing on machine learning (“ML”) and Large Language Models (“LLM”) for regulatory purposes;

NYSER is responsible for monitoring activities on the NYSE’s equities and options markets, and for addressing non-compliance with the NYSE Exchanges’ rules and federal securities laws. NYSER enforces both the NYSE Exchanges’ and their members' compliance with NYSE Exchange rules and applicable federal securities requirements. NYSER also monitors and enforces listed companies’ compliance with applicable listing standards of the NYSE Exchanges. By performing these duties, NYSER supports the NYSE Exchanges’ efforts to promote just and equitable principles of trade, encourage free and open markets, and protect investors and the public interest.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the data and AI/ML expert for NYSER
• Explore predictive modeling, ML, LLMs and advanced statistical methods and integrate that technology into NYSER’s program
• Analyze trading data to identify, develop and investigate enforcement cases, and distill the analyses into easily understood visual representations for non-technical stakeholders
• Collaborate with other subject matter experts to define requirements and specifications for new surveillance patterns and enhancements to existing surveillances
• Implement a comprehensive approach to the use and maintenance of data and technology for regulatory purposes

Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree with eight or more years of experience in data analytics/science, financial engineering, statistics, or a similar field requiredorMaster’s degree with five or more years of experience in these fields required
• Experience applying AI, including deep learning frameworks and ML, to practical business challenges in capital markets

• Lead a team through the idea generation, technical development, implementation and launch of innovative products for entity data and alternative investments (private credit, private equity).

The role is primarily responsible for providing subject matter expertise in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) matters. Key responsibilities include updating, analysing, and interpreting ESG data sets, and offering recommendations related to content development, process optimization, and ESG best practices.

This position supports the Japanese market and requires strong proficiency in the. The role involves collaboration with internal stakeholders - including training, business analysis, data quality, and customer support teams - to enhance the quality, completeness, timeliness, and scope of ESG data. Responsibilities also include conducting detailed mapping exercises to align ICE’s ESG data sets with external ESG frameworks.

Job Purpose

The primary purpose of this position is to research, analyze, interpret, transform and present reference data for fixed income securities as well as reference data pertaining to those issuers themselves that bring fixed income debt to market. The focus of this position is to perform this work with documents in either Korean or English.

The incumbent must successfully complete a three-month training program that centers on building enough subject matter expertise and the utilization of the database(s) of record such that the incumbent can independently analyze legal and financial documents associated with securities containing less complex fixed income structures. During training, the incumbent must master all of the subject matter and will be required to pass a series of quizzes and tests as well achieve the accuracy and timeliness metrics that were established for trainees.

The training curriculum for the associate contains high level overviews of the complex structures worked on by more senior personnel as well as reference data client use cases so that the incumbent can differentiate between legal and financial language that is relevant to and required by our client base versus jargon describing information that is not required and, so that the incumbent can identify new financing techniques that come to market.
