Regional Legal Counsel, Asia-Pacific

The Role

The successful candidate will contribute their expertise as an experienced technology lawyer to:

  • Serve as a reliable legal consultant to both business and technical teams on a wide array of legal topics, including general commercial matters, privacy, data protection, intellectual property, employment, corporate and regulatory concerns
  • Provide legal support for commercial legal needs by drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex technology contracts with a range of stakeholders
  • Facilitate the regional execution of data compliance strategies, ensuring conformity with international privacy regulations.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and collaborate with legal teams to ensure compliance in all jurisdictions
  • Provide guidance to internal stakeholders regarding regulatory changes and their potential impact on business operations.
  • Maintain relationships with managers in the various Informatica business units to stay familiar with business plans and goals (and how these would affect Informatica's position in contract negotiations)
  • Anticipate problems and initiate actions to ensure contractual issues are addressed efficiently
  • Assist in license compliance initiatives as necessary

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Law
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience as an in-house counsel and/or private practice.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills with proven experience handling complex commercial agreements, including multi-channel distribution, software licensing and services agreements.
  • Meticulously detailed in their work while maintaining a comprehensive perspective of the overall project.
  • Capable of recognizing cultural and stakeholder variances and viewing issues from multiple perspectives.
  • Is well organized and able to manage numerous projects simultaneously under strict time pressures
  • A confident communicator in front of a variety of audiences with the ability to influence others in a group.
  • Familiarity with and understanding of artificial intelligence, as well as data privacy and protection, will be an advantage.
