The role of a Manufacturing Engineer (ME) in the tech industry at Honeywell is a critical one. With cutting-edge advancements in technology, MEs must identify, design, implement and monitor the most cost effective and efficient processes to manufacture Honeywell's products. MEs design and implement a variety of processes, including layout, assembly operations, die casting processes, CNC machining, robotic welding, fastener installation, laser welding, lean manufacturing, optimization, and additive manufacturing. Their ultimate goal is to reduce cost and waste while producing the highest quality products. MEs plan and coordinate the work for staff and teams of production workers. They must develop and implement processes that enable the production goals of Honeywell to be met. This includes using Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to make sure that work is performed according to established procedures and that these processes are always monitored and adjusted as required. Honeywell's MEs are well-versed in a wide range of computer-based modeling and engineering tools to support the design of production processes. They must be able to identify areas for improvement in the existing process and propose solutions to eliminate problems. They must also be able to use data to measure and report on the performance of the production process. At Honeywell, MEs are a vital part of the advanced technology industry. They collaborate with teams of scientists, technicians, and engineers to provide state-of-the-art products for consumers.
