Description:

As a Test Automation Engineer, you’ll be part of the Verification and Validation (V&V) organization, that performs system V&V on Fire Alarm control panels and devices. In this position, you will be responsible for extending the internally developed test framework and utilizing the framework to perform tests. The custom test framework involves robotics, computer vision, distributed computing and sensor simulation. Extending the framework hardware test fixture will also be required. There will be opportunities to learn new technologies which is encouraged.

The annual base salary range for this position is $78,100 - $97,550. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Playing a key role in the development of a product offering-level System Validation automated test environment for validating Fire Systems’ product offerings
  • Defining and developing automated test plans, test cases, and procedures
  • Developing, executing, and maintaining automated test scripts
  • Delivering automated scripts as per plan, and providing update to management monthly
  • Performing limited manual testing as required to gain domain knowledge and facilitate test execution
  • Collaborating with development teams to create component and system test plans, test framework, and code.
  • Working collaboratively with local and global cross-functional product development teams.
  • Reviewing technical documentation for accuracy and correct content.

You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • 3 years of experience working in Test Engineering or Test Automation.
  • 3 years of experience collaborating with development teams to create component and system test plans, test framework, and code.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer) or Computer Science.
  • Programming experience in Python, LabView, Matlab, or equivalent
  • Experience working with AI and copilot.
  • Experience working as a multi-discipline engineer (Software, Electrical, Mechanical)
  • Demonstrate hands-on Lab Experience
  • Experience with Test Framework Development (Open source or Custom)
  • Experience in Robotics, Distributed Computing

  • Works with Engineers, Designers, Tool Room and Engineering Shop personnel to facilitate fabrication and inspection techniques.
  • Works from prints, specifications and other written or oral instructions.
  • May be required to perform inspection work without use of design gages, drawings, or specifications.
  • Requires knowledge of Tool Design, Tool Room and Engineering Shop Operations.
  • Makes precise measurements which may involve accumulative and calculated dimensions.
  • Sets up and operates all types of inspection instruments, including gages and multi-axis computerized measuring machines.
  • May program inspection computer tapes on piece parts, gages, fixtures, or other related items and loads product and capability tapes.
  • May check and top off lubricants as necessary.
  • Responsible for complying with applicable provisions of Article 18. Environment, Safety, Health of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
You Must Have
  • US Citizenship, able to obtain and maintain US DOE Q level security clearance
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to work any shift
  • Working knowledge of shop mathematics including geometry and trigonometry or equivalent military training or equivalent experience.
We Value
  • Have a basic knowledge of mechanical gaging and their functions, or the ability to determine the mechanical function and establish potential repair.
  • Formal machinist technical training from vocational or trade school.
  • Experience using hand gages; Calipers, Micrometers, Plug Gages, Threaded Plug Gages, Threaded Rings, etc.
  • Must be able to analyze and interpret data and performs identification and paperwork related to the task. May perform in-process inspection.
  • May have technical associate degree with college course work in calculus.
